I drove my car in for some work when I felt they were the best option because they are the specialist. Well I was told that although I wanted a specific service, they needed to charge me for a diagnostic fir best option because they are the specialist. Well I was told that although I wanted a specific service, they needed to charge me for a diagnostic first. After they reviewed the car they then said yes, what you said is what you need oh and by the way your brakes are ok but maybe consider changing them and your tires are ok too but different measurements. While your can is here we do not have a loaner car for you and the parts are not available! I asked when will they be available and was told they are not locally sourced and will be truck shipped. All the time I ask for updates and generally all I got was ok we will tell you when there is a change but goodness there were no changes for days leading me to think of some sort of communication error. The prices are high, the service is low, and the benefits you hope to gain by going to the source is really not delivered. Plus, the coffee is not so great and the disposable cups are on the cheap side of what you could expect from a premium car dealer. More
BMW of Sterling Virginia claims to have determined my car needed multiple parts to repair a problem. I thought to myself this can not be true and took my car back after being told the car was likely disassem needed multiple parts to repair a problem. I thought to myself this can not be true and took my car back after being told the car was likely disassembled and I needed to tow it. The next mechanic pointed out I did not "need" two of three components Sterling said were required. Finally the second mechanic found very obvious drive shaft bad, upon failure the transmission would be destroyed. I now recognize the $200 initial diagnostic is nothing more than driving the car over an alignment sensor measuring tire tread depth followed by a manual measure of the rotors, flashlight undercarriage check, and a computer code check. $200? I spoke to colleagues about this and they were surprised I did not expect this treatment form Sterling. Be careful when desperate and make hopeful decisions, haste makes waste, Sterling is waiting for you and no there is not a loaner car available even after a week. P.S. New parts wait time was quoted as a week and the front desk staff have very little mechanical ability with explanations easily contested when challenged. More
Buyer Beware! Had the worst treatment buying a used BMW X6 in early January 2025. Matthew Tillman was the salesman who talked me into flying to D.C. from Charlott Had the worst treatment buying a used BMW X6 in early January 2025. Matthew Tillman was the salesman who talked me into flying to D.C. from Charlotte to purchase this vehicle. I paid the deposit and told him I would be there first thing Saturday morning. He did not show up but had his associate, Jose Zapata be my salesman. We had to wait almost 1 hour until anyone greeted us. Over 3 hours later, they said the car was ready. They did not detail it nor wash it, just put a big ribbon on it. I needed to start my 7 hour drive back to Charlotte, so I didn't complain. I washed the car the next day a found major scratches only on the passenger side of the car. I contacted Jose and sent pictures. He said if i drove back 7 hours, they would fix these scratches. When I said okay, let's schedule. He texted back that he talked to the manager and they would not do anything to make it right. It will cost me over $2000 to repair this damage. Beware of their deception. I should have stuck with my BMW dealership in Charlotte (they just didnt have the exact car I was looking for). More
BMW of Sterling sold me a vehicle that should have never passed a Virginia safety inspection, violating Virginia Code § 46.2-1014.1, which requires all vehicles manufactured after 1986 to have a functioning passed a Virginia safety inspection, violating Virginia Code § 46.2-1014.1, which requires all vehicles manufactured after 1986 to have a functioning third brake light. They provided a Virginia Safety Inspection Certificate for the vehicle, but when I took it for a Maryland inspection, it failed because the third brake light was missing—a clear violation of Virginia safety standards. This raises serious concerns about whether the Virginia inspection was negligently performed or outright falsified. When I brought this issue to their attention, they dismissed it, claiming they don’t guarantee vehicles will pass Maryland inspection. However, Virginia Code § 46.2-1529 makes it illegal for a dealer to sell a vehicle without ensuring it complies with Virginia safety laws or disclosing known defects. BMW of Sterling did neither. This dealership failed to meet their legal obligations, jeopardized customer safety, and showed zero accountability. If they can’t be trusted to follow basic laws, how can they be trusted at all? Avoid BMW of Sterling if you value honesty, transparency, and safety. More

On 7 December 2024 I had purchases a 2022 Nissan Sentra SV with 17,533 miles on it for our 16 year old daughter to drive as her very first newer vehicle. I dealt with Vance who was the sales representative SV with 17,533 miles on it for our 16 year old daughter to drive as her very first newer vehicle. I dealt with Vance who was the sales representative and is for the most a genuine gentleman. After taking possession of the vehicle and upon our daughter driving it for two days. She came home and stated that the car had a shake to it when driving down the road and applying the brakes. I told her it was more than likely rotors and I would circle back around with BMW to let them know. I called and got the run around that it could not be rotors as the car only has 17k miles on it. So we booked an appointment at the Nissan dealership in Chantilly, VA. We asked to have the tires balanced and roated along with the oil checked and the brakes. When the Nissan mechanic was balancing and rotating the tires. He had one that would not balance out due to the rim being bent. They moved it from the front drivers side to rear drivers side and advised to have it replaced before it caused premature tire wear and other mechanical issues. I called BMW back and advised Vance that the a rim was found to be bent and would not balance out and was a issue. After two days of back and forth I was advised that the front rim was found to have an issue when BMW took possession of the vheicle back in October 2024 and that they repaired it. Obviously it was not as Nissan could not get the tire to balance. I was then advised to speak to Hugo Coz Jr. at BMW of Sterling. On 17 December I went to the dealership and spoke directly with him and communicated my concerns and that this car was for a 16 year old girl. He advised that they fixed it and it was sold fixes with no issues. I asked how he could be okay with saleing the car and knowing that the issue that was found during BMWs intake inspection was still an issue. He stated that the car was fixed and good to go before it was sold. All I have to say is be cautious when buying used from here as they will not take ownership in their vehicle inspections nor issues that vehicles have. For your very own review, I have attached Nissan's documentation along with Hugo's used mechanic, Chase vehicle intake inspection and repair sheet. Again, I understand this is not a 75k BMW that was pirchased, but it was one that was bought for a 16 year old girl who now has to come up with $1,200 to have her new to her vehicle fixed. Please do think twice before buying used from this dealership or be sure to take your car to a place that can complete a thorough vehicle inspection and be sure the vehicle is in sound condition and no issues are present. I was trying to buy a vehicle and the receptionists and salespeople were cold and distant when calling them, refusing to email or give me a callback with more information. Philip, Adam, and company were all extremely unhelpful. Glad they delayed the process as I had time to read the nightmare reviews about this place and avoid the possibility of a bad purchase. Based on how it is run I would not trust a “CPO” label from this dealership. More
