Ultimately it was found elsewhere, because what I wanted was HARD to find, but they are going to be the one stop shop for servicing it. I live out of s Let me start off by saying (like many) I haven't had very good experiences with auto dealers. I'm a BMW enthusiast and I'm particular. I live out of state and was looking for a car for a long time. When I saw a car I liked at BMW of Charlottesville, I cautiously called and spoke with Phil Marx. It turned out the car was just what I was looking for and I spent a considerable amount of time asking questions of Phil and he genuinely seemed happy to answer them. It became clear that Phil was not just a salesman, but a guy who is also a BMW enthusiast that really enjoys what he does. To make a long story short, I chose to buy the car sight unseen based on the car's history and the info and photos Phil provided. I flew to Charlottesville and Phil met me at the airport and drove me to the dealership. The car was just as described. I was thrilled, purchased it and drove it back home. Phil and BMW of Charlottesville took what could have been a nerve-racking and risky, long distance purchase and turned it into a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend this dealership and Phil Marx for a BMW purchase. More

My wife and I were shopping for her first brand new car in several years. We test drove Honda, Ford, Volvo, and then BMW. We were greeted by Phil Marx, and worked with him over two days. He showed us wha in several years. We test drove Honda, Ford, Volvo, and then BMW. We were greeted by Phil Marx, and worked with him over two days. He showed us what they had on the lot (X-1 and X-3) and worked us through various packages and configurations. He knew his products extremely well. We test drove the X-1, and then the X-3. My wife decided on the X-3, which she then worked with Phil to custom build. There was absolutely no pressure. Phil kept her informed of vehicle build progress over a six week period, and managed our expectations very well. When we came back to the dealership to buy, the process could not have been any easier. No stress, and again Phil worked with my wife to show her all the basics and the many features the the X-3 offers. We used a car buying service and that process and price were within our expectations. Phil was extremely easy to work with, as were the finance personnel. All of the people we worked with were friendly and professional. Overall, a great buying experience. More

After reviewing this company online, I was a little concerned about bringing my car here to do service on a recall issue to my 2001 BMW 330Ci. Right away, Donald was very friendly and helpful, giving concerned about bringing my car here to do service on a recall issue to my 2001 BMW 330Ci. Right away, Donald was very friendly and helpful, giving me a loaner car to run errands with for the 2-3 hours he said it would take to complete the work. After 2 1/2 hours I received a phone call from them stating that the work had been done and my car was going through a complimentary detailing and would be ready in 5-10 minutes. Upon my return Donald was busy, so he had another young lady get me the paperwork, and with no charge and a clean car I was out the door. I don't really ever take the time to write reviews, but with only 2 positive reviews on this site for the service department (and two very negative ones), I thought it was only fair to them to share my experience. Hopefully this helps anyone skeptical have the confidence that there are certainly customers of theirs that get treated quite well! -Jonathan More
