THE MECHANIC WORKING ON MY CAR, AS WELL, SENT ME AN E-MAIL WITH A VIDEO AND UPDATES AS TO WHAT PROCEDURES NEEDED TO BE DONE, TO KEEP MY CAR IN TIP TOP SHAPE. KEITH ALSO MENTIONED THAT MY LAST DETAIL WAS DONE OVER A YEAR AGO. KNOWING HOW GREAT THE DETAIL DEPARTMENT IS FROM THE MY PAST EXPERIENCES, I TOLD KEITH TO GO AHEAD WITH THE DETAIL. I WASN'T DISAPPOINTED AS THEY DID AN AWESOME JOB. I'M ALSO PLANNING TO GET ANOTHER BMW AND I'M PLANNING TO WORK WITH NICOLAS IN THE SALES DEPARTMENT. HE IS TERRIFIC! ALL IN ALL BMW OF CARLSBAD HAS EVERYTHING AND I PLAN TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM FOR MANY YEARS. More
It was a good experience with a dealership in Carlsbad. My agent was professional, offered some suggestions in car care which was nice to hear and learn. I got front tires balance and alignment. I am not even sure they should call it a "service center"; much more a poor repair shop. Service implies some degree of service and there was none. From my first call to setup an appointment, all the way until I picked up the car, I had to work way too hard to get the service completed. Unresponsive, non-communicative and it cost me far more time and stress than a customer should expect to endure. More

Gorgeous new service facility, with very polite and helpful service staff. BUT THE WAIT! WOW! We had an appointment for 10:30 AM with a simple oil change, and were told our X5 would be ready in 3-5 HO helpful service staff. BUT THE WAIT! WOW! We had an appointment for 10:30 AM with a simple oil change, and were told our X5 would be ready in 3-5 HOURS! For an oil change? Plus, no free shuttle to the outlet mall or anywhere else like other dealerships have in Carlsbad, so you are kind of trapped unless you Uber. Maybe have an express lane or express service for oil changes - 3 to 5 hours is horrendous. Also, the seat adjustment and even steering wheel adjustment were all significantly changed by whoever drove it. An annoyance after waiting so long. More
The service department at BMW Carlsbad has no appreciation for their customer’s time. I went in to pick a car that I purchased in May and have had to service the vehicle twice. The service manag appreciation for their customer’s time. I went in to pick a car that I purchased in May and have had to service the vehicle twice. The service managers are great but they then hand the process of getting your car to the most dysfunctional team. I waited 35 minutes for them to pull the car from parking. I asked three different times even talked to the general manager of the service department. His name is Mike and he just brushed me off with an unemotional apology and I was again left waiting longer. If you do purchase a car from this dealership and you have to get your car service, expect over an hour to pick the vehicle up. More
I had the worst experience on having my EGR recall service performed on my X5 35d which I originally purchased from BMW of Carlsbad as new. First, the EGR recall was done incorrectly which result in m service performed on my X5 35d which I originally purchased from BMW of Carlsbad as new. First, the EGR recall was done incorrectly which result in melted holes in the intake manifold which triggered over more than error codes which shows that oxygen level is wrong, intake pressure is wrong and fuel fixture is wrong in a few weeks after we took the car back. They replaced the intake manifold and had us take the car back. However, after having the car back for a week or two with just doing regular trips within San Diego. The check-engine light comes up again. This time they had us pay for the exam this time. In the report it shows both DPF inefficiency and catalytic converter inefficiency. However, the service manager, Michael Nguyen said the only issue is in the catalytic converted but not the DPF which the exhaust air travelled through first. And he does not want to link this to all the incorrect oxygen level, fuel fixture error codes that will result in DPF inefficiency. No soot and ash measurement is done to determine the root-cause of the DPF inefficient issue. Michael insisted that the only way for him to build a case to BMW NA. So we went ahead a bought OEM BMW catalytic converter and have it installed. After the installation, check-engine light comes up again and it is pointed to the DPF inefficiency again. We got back to Michael again. He is very reluctant to follow his own thinking on this matter now. He changed his story in the text message exchange that I had with him and kept saying it is because of the part is old so it just needs to replaced. But when I told him that BMW specify the lifespan of the DPF to be 150k miles and the DPF only has 90k miles on it. And he failed to answer the question why this is not logically related the incorrect EGR recall service that caused all the error codes and melting holes in the intake manifold. And why soot and ash measurement is not done to figure out why the DPF performance is inefficient. He also failed to answer if a mechanic part is old, which component failed because it is old? He did mentioned in the text message that the camera shows that structure and honeycomb of the DPF looks good. So what is wrong with it and why it is not caused by the incorrect EGR recall? He cannot answer these questions at all. We are beyond frustrated with his service and attitude. Definitely, we will share this experience to people around us and on BMW forums. This is the first time I had this time of issue out of the 5 BMWs that I have owned. More
I bought a 2017 2 series convertible from this dealership in 2020 with only 8,000 miles, when it was BMW of Vista. This was my first service visit to the new combined site at BMW of Carlsbad, and I am deeply in 2020 with only 8,000 miles, when it was BMW of Vista. This was my first service visit to the new combined site at BMW of Carlsbad, and I am deeply impressed by the facility. While it is much larger than either the Vista or Encinitas locations were, the service is still both personal and professional. Well done! More
