Bo Here’s the full story: I test drove a 128i convertible with the salesman Daniel. The car had a detached read window and broken rear brake light. Both safety issues. I liked the car but asked that those items be fixed before I can purchase the car as those are safety issues, and that the dealer would provide a short warranty - 3 months - to provide for some peace of mind. Went back to test drive the car again with my son. The window was ducked taped ! And the rear brake light still broken. I asked again those things to be fixed The sales person was Kyle, Daniel was not able to make it to our appointment , he was stuck in traffic somewhere. He called later. I asked again for the window and brake light to be fixed, and about the warranty. Couple of days later Kyle calls back, saying that he had a hard time to negotiate with his manager, but was able to provide a one month warranty only. I agreed to the terms and asked to be called when the window and break are fixed so I can finalize the purchase. Few days later Kyles calls - on a Saturday - saying the car is ready. He called again a few minutes later, saying he was sorry but the car was not repaired yet. He said I could still buy the car and leave it at the dealership until the window was fixed. I politely refused, mainly because the warranty would start in purchase date and I would not be driving the car while the warranty expires. Kyle agreed that we the warranty would start immediately and that I needed to wait for the car to be repaired A few days later Daniel calls. He basically says that the car had been ready for a while and that he had been test driving with several other potential customers, and that I should visit the dealership at once if I want the car. I asked Daniel if he had checked if the window was fixed because the last I heard was that it was not fixed. He said that he was not aware of anything that needed to be fixed, and that he had checked with is manager Pedro and that they are not going to hold the car for me. This was a shock. Later that same day I called and talked directly with the manager Pedro, who said he was not aware of why Daniel said what he said and that he would check in the morning and call me back. He did not call back. However later that week I did talk to Kyle. I mentioned what Daniel and Pedro said. Kyle said he was sorry for not the non professional behavior of his senior colleagues. He said someone was coming on Friday to fix the window and I could get the car Saturday, and that I should take an appointment. He did not called. So I called late evening and a Kyle said that he left Coast BMW at 4pm and at that time the window had not been fixed yet. At that point, it has been already 10 days we agreed on the sales terms, and I have been waiting for Coast BMW to get ready on their end. So I called Pedro and asks what are we going to do about this. He said the car was a ‘project car’ and that I should be aware and accept this. That if I was not comfortable with a this I should by a different car, more a turn key car (whatever that means?) I asked why he is saying this? Is there anything he is aware of other of than the detached back window? He said he is not aware of anything else than the problem with the window and that is why he calls this car a ‘project’ car. So I asked how can we move forward? He said I could buy the car now and then get the repair later. Which I was ok with if we could find something convenient for me. I did not want to be stuck without any car for a while and ask for a temporary loan while they fix the car. Because obviously they are very flaky at keeping their promises, it’s been over a week they promised the window would be repaired. Pedro said he will think about this and call back As he failed to call back again, I called back and left a message, and I was called back by yet another sales person. I repeated the terms of the deal, and the new vendor said he was not aware of any warranty and would need to call back. He added that those warranty are not legal in the state of California, and he had never seen this in his over a decade work as a car salesperson. In asked for Pedr.o, the main manager, to call me back. Pedro called and said that he was not aware that Kyle offered a warranty and that he was sorry about Kyle mistake. I told Pedro that Kyle said he had authorization to, and he even mentioned this via text message. Pedro got really upset and said he was going to fire Kyle. (Poor Kyle, doing his job, and getting thrown under a bus) I said I did not want to be involved in internal matters, and that he had to move forward with the deal I was given by his employe. Pedro refused. He said the deal was off the table, and was sorry about it but he was not responsible for a new salesperson promise. WOW, just WOW. I gave you the facts and you can judge of the integrity, and honesty - or the lack of - of this dealership. Personally I would recommend staying away from this dealership. More

Customer service ? Took our 650 in for service - they damaged vehicle while it was in the shop. Said they'd take care of it. Then they dropped us. I have contacted everyone from the owner of the company on down to the managers at the dealer. 100% unresponsive. Coast BMW will happily take your money but if you have a problem after the sale - they will ignore you until you go away - Starts at the top and rolls downhill from there. No one cares and they dont care that they dont care. More
