I purchased a 2015 Acura MDX from Axis Chevrolet this past Friday, and it was one of the worst car-buying experiences I’ve ever had. The online listing showed a price of $14,000, but by the time the pape past Friday, and it was one of the worst car-buying experiences I’ve ever had. The online listing showed a price of $14,000, but by the time the paperwork was done, I ended up paying over $20,000. They tacked on $4,000 in fees claiming it was for “maintenance” so the car could be “certified,” and another $895 for documentation. That alone felt deceptive. But worse, they forced me into their financing plan even though I clearly stated I wanted to pay cash. I was pushed into an 8.9% interest rate, which is outrageous considering my excellent credit. After driving off the lot, I discovered the vehicle had a strong cigarette odor that doesn’t go away with any cleaning or air fresheners. The car was advertised as “certified” and “deep cleaned.” When I called the salesperson, she told me she’d speak with her manager and call back in 15 minutes. That was the last I heard from her. I called again—no response. I then contacted their customer service line, and after explaining the situation, I was transferred to someone who hung up on me. This dealership uses high-pressure sales tactics, adds hidden fees, and offers poor customer service once the sale is complete. Their “certified” vehicles are questionable, and they refuse to stand behind their promises. I will be filing a formal complaint with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. I strongly urge anyone considering doing business with Axis Chevrolet to look elsewhere. Don’t let them take advantage of you the way they did with me. More

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. PERIOD. I went to Axis with my own car and $7,000 down. They sold my trade-in before the sale was even finalized, without my consent. Then they tr PERIOD. Then they tried to force me into accepting a defective car that clearly had major issues. When I said no, they got hostile, pushing me nonstop to call the bank and say I was "satisfied" so they could get their money. They held me at the dealership, refusing to let me leave until I agreed to the deal. I had to call the POLICE just to get out of there. I have the official incident report to prove it. And it didn't end there -- they tried to intimidate me by sending letters from their attorney, telling me to come pick up the same defective car they knew wasn't in working condition, saying it "had nothing wrong with it." I told them clearly: I want my trade-in back and I want my $7,000 back. I got NEITHER. They kept my money. They kept my car. They gave me NOTHING. The owner (Jimmy) is manipulative and dangerous to do business with. This is not a dealership -- it's a scam house. I don't know how they're still open. Also, watch the prices on their website -- they'll list one price online and then jack it up by $2,000-$5,000 when you get there. And if they give you more for your trade-in than what you owe, they just sneak it into the final car price. It's all a trap to make you think you're getting a deal -- when really, they're bleeding you dry. Do NOT go to Axis unless you're ready to be robbed and lied to. This place is built on lies and intimidation. Stay far away. More
