It seems that they lied to me, I took my my 2018 ram truck to fix the V44 recall that has to do with the tailgate latch. the truck was returned to me in less than an hour, never moved from the spot were truck to fix the V44 recall that has to do with the tailgate latch. the truck was returned to me in less than an hour, never moved from the spot were I left it. they never opened the access cover to the latch. I did ask to call the technician and make sure he had done the repair. He replied that he inspected the mechanism , from outside. this is not what the official document states has to be done. it reads HOW DO I RESOLVE THIS IMPORTANT SAFETY ISSUE? FCA will repair your vehicle [2] free of charge (parts and labour). To do this, your dealer will install a tailgate actuator stop block that will limit the pivot arm from over travelling and pulling on the locking/unlocking rods. The estimated repair time is about one hour. In addition, your dealer will require your vehicle for proper check-in, preparation, and check-out during your visit, which require more time. Your time is important to us, so we recommend that you schedule a service appointment to minimize your inconvenience. Please bring this letter with you to your dealership. i repeat, did not last 45 min and no mechanical work was done at all. I will report this to Stellantis , I did take my time to remove the cover to look for the newly installed stop block. By doing it myself I did see that it is possible to do that in 20 minutes. (I Offer my excuses for saying it was not possible).but the block was not there, it was never installed. the recall demands the installation of the block. I tried to talk to the service manager the day of the service but i was in a rush and he was not there at the moment ( I met him early that day ) . I have tried to talk to them today.
