Hello, Please explain to me why the following text on page 440 of the owners manual says I can disable it? Idle Stop Set the Auto Idle Stop system to Enable or Disable. While Idle Stop is Disable in INDIVIDUAL mode, the Auto Idle Stop System will stay disabled regardless of the Auto Idle Stop OFF button 2 Auto Idle Stop P. 449 So either the car is not functioning or the manual is incorrect. It was also a question I asked sales before I bought the car and I was assured it could be permanently disabled.

Thank you for choosing Autosport Acura of Denville. I understand your frustration. Unfortunately with Idle Stop the feature defaults to being active every time you restart the vehicle, unless you set it up in Individual mode and switch to Individual Mode in certain vehicles, Otherwise it has to be turned off manually each time you drive if that is your preference.. Acura is not the only make with this feature defaulting to being active with each vehicle start. We apologize for any confusion regarding this feature, and we hope that you will still continue to choose Autosport Acura of Denville for your vehicle needs.

You are correct that Auto Idle Stop can be permanantly disabled within the vehicle's "Individual Mode". I'm sorry if I was previously mistaken. In order to access Individual mode, you will have to manually change drive modes with each start of the vehicle. If you need more assistance regarding this issue please feel free to contact our sales or service team at the dealership and we will definitely be happy to assist you further.
