Spoke with the service manager and made the service manager aware that our tow hitch cover had not been ordered as promised during our 20,000 mile maintenance check. It was the perfect storm on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Autonation Toyota, Corpus Christi. Unfortunately I was caught in the eye of the storm. Having made a 12 noon appointment for a simple oil change an Autonation Toyota, Corpus Christi. Unfortunately I was caught in the eye of the storm. Having made a 12 noon appointment for a simple oil change and tire rotation on my Toyota Highlander, I arrived at 11:47 a.m. In all fairness to the service representative, he did tell me that the service department was running extremely behind and it could be as much as three, maybe four hours, but since I had an appointment, it might not be as bad. I had an option to reschedule, but because I don’t live In Corpus, and I can’t just pop in anytime, I declined and my husband and I took a seat in the waiting area. All throughout the afternoon, I remained patient, knowing that this wasn’t exactly the norm, but at 4:30, I finally approached the service representative and asked for an update—he checked and we were now “on the rack”, so it should be within an hour or so. At 5:25, we got our car. The gentleman who checked us out could tell I was not extremely pleased that this oil change took five and one-half hours, but he never once offered any excuse or apology. It’s amazing how far just a little apology or kind word might get you, but there was none being offered that day. The worst part about this whole ordeal is that we have an oil change facility very near our home and could opt to have it done there, but I prefer to keep my records with Toyota. Unfortunately, this is probably the last time we will ever use Autonation Toyota in Corpus for anything, including the purchase of a new car. More
I came in to get my car inspected and to have the oil changed. James was very helpful. I waited with coffee, water and pretzels. This dealership gets 5 stars as far as sales go. Paul Beaudion has sold us many vehicles over the years and I would not hesitate to do business with them again. However, the service department only gets 3 stars and that is being generous. They, too were excellent when we first started doing business with them, but sadly digressed to an unacceptable level at one time. It was so bad, for the first time in over a decade, I bought a new vehicle from a different dealer. That said, we still a dealer service package on one of our vehicles and just used it recently. I'm the service department issues are improving, but that remains to be seen. So, overall 4 star average on the two. More
