I was on vacation and the key to my Camry broke off in the trunk lock. After rigging my key back together, I drove immediately to AutoNation Toyota to get a replacement key. The process of getting a rep the trunk lock. After rigging my key back together, I drove immediately to AutoNation Toyota to get a replacement key. The process of getting a replacement key was very deceptive. I was given the choice of a key fob that would unlock the doors and the trunk electronically for $240, or a key without the electronic door lock openers for $45. I ordered two of the non-electronic keys at $45 each. (so that I could have a spare) They did do a great job timewise. They said it would take about 90 minutes, I was out of there in 75 minutes. I was pleased about that. But the part I was really dissatisfied with was the deception when asking about the price. It ended up costing $285 for two keys. Not a single person mentioned the charges for "programming". Based on my conversation with two different employees in the dealership, I was expecting to pay $100ish and the bill came out to almost $300. Why not just tell people up front what the true cost of replacing a key is going to be? What is the point of hiding charges from customers on the front end? It seemed very deceptive and left a bad taste in my mouth concerning this dealership. More
I bought a brand new, 2022 Toyota highlander Platinum edition in march….the smart key fob on the passenger side of the car stopped working…they said they would repair it…duh it is still under all of the edition in march….the smart key fob on the passenger side of the car stopped working…they said they would repair it…duh it is still under all of the warranty’s….we took it in for repair and to get the 10k service (yes I drive a lot) my husband dropped it off at 815AM…no one bothered calling us all day…at 415PM my husband called and stayed on hold for 20min before giving up and finding a ride up there…when he arrived no one knew the status of my car…when he called me I asked to him confirm the door was fixed before leaving…finally someone brought him keys and said it was ready….not to my surprise…he checked the door and it DID NOT WORK!!!!! When he told them they said the door worked fine (nvm THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART WEEEEEKS AGO!) they refused to correct the issue that night and we had to reschedule for ANOTHER service day because they didn’t want to work late….if they thought nothing was wrong they should have called and ASKED why we thought something was wrong to begin with…the car was there 8 full hours without being fixed….disgraceful and horrible customer service.
