Got a stone on the road, leaving again for a long trip at the end of the week and needed a new windshield in a hurry. I was appalled that Subaru charges $1500 for a windshield replacement. That price is truly offensive and more than $1000 above what the insurance company will pay. Safelite (who probably did the repair for you anyway) quoted that they would do it for the insurance reimbursement + the deductible, which would have cost me only $500. Unfortunately they had no appointments this week so I had little choice but to submit to your larceny. I am still waiting to hear from Erik Lopez to get a properly itemized bill that breaks out the cost of the windshield replacement from the cost of the Eyesight calibration. My insurance company needs separate numbers for those two categories. He won't return my calls. I also really want to know what the $200 charge for "Other" on my bill is for. That sounds like something to take up with the Attorney General car repair fraud division. As does your entire bill for this routine and common job. More
