My sales experience - 5 stars. Everything else - ZERO! Last August, I purchased a 2013 Legacy Limited from this dealer and had an EXCELLENT sales experience with Don Parr. Don is extremely knowledgeable a Last August, I purchased a 2013 Legacy Limited from this dealer and had an EXCELLENT sales experience with Don Parr. Don is extremely knowledgeable and very patient. I visited the dealer several times while I reviewed this car and two competitors very closely. I had spreadsheets and payment calculators on my laptop - a dealer's worst nightmare. I researched the inventory on this model with the options I wanted from Thousand Oaks to the Mexican border, and there were only 3 or 4 available. Don assured I got a great price - I really did - and they had the car brought in from another dealer. Don was no BS, and I really appreciated that from him. Now, not true for the finance dept. As much as I didn't want to, I got suckered in to the "Added Security Agreement' which extends service to 7 years or 100K miles. It was late on a weeknight (almost 10 pm), and I had not eaten. I wish I had thought about this more closely. No worries though. The agreement fine print says I can cancel within 90 days and get a full refund. Well, that's what it says. Unfortunately, Scott Eisold the Finance Director told me that is not what it means. I've had several conversations with both Scott and Subaru of America in New Jersey, and they REFUSE to refund the money even though the agreement says, "If this Agreement is cancelled within 90 days after purchase and you have not filed a claim, you will receive a full refund." Uh, yeah. Total lying dirt bags. This WILL end up in front of a judge, I'm sure. So sad that they have a great salesperson like Don, and then a two-faced liar like Scott. I will NEVER bring my car here for service. There are too many other places worthy of my business. More
Salesman very helpful and friendly. Nice stock of inventory and knowledge of the cars was impressive. Never felt pressured at any point and I appreciated that very much. Instead I felt very relaxed. Whenever I had a question about anything Aaron answered it and if he didn't know at the time, he was quick to give me a reply once he found the answer. When I came in I was looking for a car that was nice, fuel efficient, good safety rating, etc. At the time I was looking at the new Jettas, particularly the GLI. I test drove the car that day. Great car!!!! I was in and out of Bob Baker VW for the next 3 weeks not sure what exactly I wanted so I went to other dealerships to see if they can compete and to see how well their customer services are. After going to a total of six, without hesitation I went back to Aaron at Bob Baker after some terrible visits..... I ultimately got the 2012 GLI and the great thing was that Aaron helped me every step of the way to getting me in the car I wanted! Till this day he's still extending that helpful hand out... If you are going to get a car, get it At BOB BAKER and talk to Aaron Holbert! This place is great! The best of the 6 dealerships I visited for quantity and quality of service to customers. Great selection of cars to choose from! Would Recommend this place and Dealer to anyone! More
My wife and I were visiting relatives on our vacation and stopped by just to check out the new Passat. We were greeted by the most friendliest gentleman. His name was Gary. My own approach to purchasing a new car has always been to research the car I want/need and then minimize interactions with the typical self serving and uninformed salesman that usually does not know as much about their own product than I do. I have usually engaged dealerships by first working to avoid the watch dog front line salesmen that guard the entry lots using a multitude of techniques. My initial engagement with the Bob Baker dealership was initially no different. However, I did find contacting them online and discovered Alicia in Internet sales. This was a very pleasant experience primarily due to her infectuous bubbly and freindly Ausie personality. Her open straight forward communications on VW products information including the ability to say "I don't know" but was willing to help you to find out, caused me to keep the Bob Baker dealership on my top list of dealerships as I continued my search for the perfect deal. Alicia eventually pointed me to Eddie who on first impression communicated an honest and energitic enthusiasm to helping me with "hands on" review of the 2012 VW GTI. Eddie was relatively new to Bob Baker but his open communication style and integrity was truly refreshing. His willingness to go the extra mile in tracking down answers and even offering alternatives to issues I had with making the deal made for an enduring and positive relationship throughout the entire car buying process. Of the four dealership experiences ( other brands being Toyota, Ford, and Subaru), I must say that my experience with Alex was by far the most pleasant. Minimal pressure, friendly people, and an efficient financing department all contributed to this. I went into the Dealership knowing what I wanted and Alex was very good at finding me what I wanted and not trying to up-sell me on something I did not want (like I experienced at Toyota). I will say that the initial cleaning of my car was not up to my standards (probably because I purchased close to closing time), but when I called Alex the next day to inform him, he told me to bring it in and it would be taken care of. I brought it in and my new GTI looked amazing after they were done with it. More
