Buyer Beware!Misrepresentation of cars mechanical condition. Buyer Beware Purchased a car used Mercedes c230 online. Spoke to the Owner of the dealership when I first saw the car online. It was a Sunday we agre Buyer Beware Purchased a car used Mercedes c230 online. Spoke to the Owner of the dealership when I first saw the car online. It was a Sunday we agreed on a price. The following day he increased the price by a few hundred dollars! Said he made a mistake. I agreed on the increase because I needed him to inspect the car and explained that it has to pass Maryland inspection. I sent him the actual Maryland state inspection form that shows every part that needs to be inspected. He agreed to have his mechanic use the Maryland inspection form to verify that the car would pass. When the car arrived the exterior and interior condition was exactly as represented. When I drove the car there was a noise coming from the right front when going over very small bumps. I informed the owner of the car dealership over the phone. I told him I would get back to him as soon as possible with the results of the inspection . It took me a week to get around to it because I had to work it around my job s schedule. I did grab the right front tire and it had over 1/4" of movement. I took it to the inspection station and it failed on bad upper and lower control arms,front rotors ,sway bars bushings and 1 tire had insufficient tread. I have nearly $1400.00 in repairs on a car that was supposed to be fully checked by his mechanic. Although it was an "as is purchase " I felt that he should be responsible for at least some of the repairs because he misrepresented the condition of the parts of the car he was supposed to have checked. I contacted him to discuss the possibility and he flat out refused. My advice is to stay away from his place. I have kept every record of all of our correspondence of back up everything have said here. More
