Two visits in 11 years and nothing has changed. I never was offered help at either 7:00 pm or 2:00 pm...I was the only customer on the lot on both occasions and was there for about 30 minutes. I stood in t was offered help at either 7:00 pm or 2:00 pm...I was the only customer on the lot on both occasions and was there for about 30 minutes. I stood in the middle of the showroom and saw salespeople in their offices reading, on their phones, etc; even after a salesman walked by me with nothing apparently to do, I was shunned all around. I don't know how they sell any cars there. It sounds like they concentrate on ripping you off in the service department, no matter where you bought your car. More
My Autobahn Motors service experience was awful. A simple service turned into a $4,700 nightmare. 48 hours after service, I had the car towed back to Autobahn, followed by another return visit and an simple service turned into a $4,700 nightmare. 48 hours after service, I had the car towed back to Autobahn, followed by another return visit and another $3000 estimate to fix their mistakes. The truth is, Autobahn Motors didn't seem to know what was wrong with it. For example, they recommended work that my independent Porsche mechanic could not confirm or find cause. My Porsche mechanic, made the repairs caused by Autobahn Motors which included the failed fuel pump caused when Autobahn needlessly replaced my fuel filter for $900. BTW - if you go in for service, they tell everyone they need a Polybelt and spark plugs for $2000.... this is rip off dealership only interested in driving their revenue up. More
Dear Mercedez Benz (USA); Better Business Bureau; et. al: Per our two conversation now (with ‘customer care’), the first quite extensive with a woman who said she would take care of the problem, yet neve Per our two conversation now (with ‘customer care’), the first quite extensive with a woman who said she would take care of the problem, yet never called me back, nor emailed me, as promised, the second (as I am writing this), the individual telling me that they have “no record” of that first call, here again is what happened – now in writing: After rushing in to take my leased Mercedes E320 to Autobahn Motors for apparently a ‘B’ service, and getting an estimate of service, the next thing I get is a call telling me that I need an additional service for $300! (this is on a brand new 25k Mercedes!); I said unless Mercedes was going to pick up that, absolutely not – his response was that Mercedes “doesn’t pick up anything re maintenance”. Then he said, “I’ll write down you decline!”. Thinking that something is wrong here, i.e., if the additional service had to do with brakes (which it did apparently) – how can they just allow me to decline without saying “this is important; if you don’t fix this it will be dangerous to drive…”. Further, how can something which is not normal be required on a new car and the dealership or Mercedes wouldn’t pick up the charges, I said to myself. With that, I called the Service manager to complain; his name was Mark something. I explained that the Service guy acted like a used car salesman, or someone on commission, and everything he said seemed highly suspicious for the above reasons; it was like I was dealing with someone trying a scam, that is, he was doing his best to get me to agree to add an additional and unnecessary $300s worth of work on the job. If not, then it would be even more outrageous not to explain the seriousness of what needed to be fixed – but instead he just said “ok..I’ll write declined”. When all this was explained to the Service manager, there was no argument at all; in fact, he was quite understanding; we then talked about the last time I was there for my A service, and why (I received a coupon in the mail); he then explained that I could go to the net and they’d match any coupon rate (as stated on Autobahn’s website), but that he would also offer me the same coupon rate from June (something like $395). I said fine; and he said when I came to pick up my car, although he was leaving before then, he’d change the invoice to that price. When I got there later that evening, nothing was changed (it was still around $600); the women said, no problem that it would be fixed tomorrow “but to get your car keys, she would need to run the AMEX card through, “but don’t worry, it will be destroyed and changed when Mark is in the next day”. I said fine, gave my credit card, and signed it and fortunately, wrote “will be changed….” On it . Amazingly, the next day I got a call from Mark who said everything was correct on the invoice, “that I misunderstood”; of course, that was outrageous, and furthermore, a lie – I came in for a B service, that was all that was ever discussed, or, in my mind, and per my initial discussion, very brief, authorized. Lastly, I got a call from Mercedes Benz corporate (customer care), who said they’d take care of this; the next thing I get, was a second invoice (this time with a ‘bogus’ unsigned, and unauthorized, copy of the “customer copy” of the AMEX receipt! For $579.34. Please open a fraud investigation and reverse this charge. The agreed upon price was about $395 (someone should really go to jail for credit card fraud!). Best, p More
We have a 2001 Mercedes ML 320. This has been in the shop several times for various items. We have had several bad experiences with Karl at Autobahn MOTORS in Belmont, CA. He treats us like we do not de shop several times for various items. We have had several bad experiences with Karl at Autobahn MOTORS in Belmont, CA. He treats us like we do not deserve to drive a Mercedes. He is very condescending and rude. he said I am "too nit picky" when it comes to the car. I have had the fuel pump, window switches. door locks, glove box and seat tracks REPLACED. Each item was faulty. The car would not start on several occassions. We also had it towed to Mercedes once. We took the car to an independent shop and they ran a diagnostic test on the electrical system. They attributed the problem to the alarm system. We brought the report to Karl at Autobahn and he dismissed it. He said only their specially trained Mercedes technicians could check the electrical system. They could not duplicate the problem, so they did not repair anything. Right now the door lock mechanism keeps opening and closing whenever we come to a stop. I checked on several forums and this is referred to as the machine gun effect. This is a common problem with Mercedes door locks. I mentioned this to Karl, and he said in all his years at Mercedes he had never heard of this. I find that hard to believe considering all of the complaints I have found on this topic. We also have 2 BMWs a 2003 M3 and a 2001 330ci. We never have any problems or complaints. We will probably return the Mercedes and pick up a 2007 X5. We will probably never buy another Mercedes as long as we live. We also tell all of our friends to buy BMW over Mercedes. We come into contact with many attorneys, CFO's and Investment Bankers in our line of work. We have already convinced several people not to buy Mercedes based on the terrible service. I have e-mailed Mercedes Customer service, but I guess they do not value our business. We even offered to purchase a new Mercedes ML if they would take the old one back, but they refused to. NEVER BUY FROM AUTOBAHN MOTORS!! More

Took my SLK 230 for an A service. When I drove the car after the service, the transmission did not shift smoothly. I went to them complaining and they re-examined it and came up with a strange story: That after the service, the transmission did not shift smoothly. I went to them complaining and they re-examined it and came up with a strange story: That the transmission fluid was leaking which spilled on the onboard computer and hence it is not controlling the shifting properly. Also, that a rat was found dead inside and it might have chewn the wires, so they have to rexamine all the wiring. The total estimated cost was in the range of 2000-3000 dollars! How could this have happened within a day of me taking my car after service? They charged me for re-inspecting as well. I did not authorize any of the work at Authobahn motors and took my car to Smythe European. The technician diagnosed the problem as a malfunctioning oxygen sensor which was covered under warranty and replaced it for free. The sensor must have been tampered with while replacing the air filter during the A service. They replaced it for free and the car is running perfectly. I have written diagnosis that was given to me by both Autobahn motors and Smythe. Autobahn motors is a bunch of fraudulent people trying to rip off unsuspecting customers coming to service their cars. More
Had $1400 worth of power steering repairs end of January (dealer claimed it was a bad hydaulic pump.) The car left the dealership with the same noises as it went in. Brought the car back in February. The (dealer claimed it was a bad hydaulic pump.) The car left the dealership with the same noises as it went in. Brought the car back in February. They claimed that it needed another $3,000 in additional powersteering repairs for the part coincedentally located right underneath the pump they just replaced. Could they have accidently replaced the wrong part? Never could happen they claim. Their service department just sold us on getting a Lexus. More
I bought a Mercedes C230K here and brought it in for service until I traded it in. I should have known something was wrong when I'd agreed on a price and it took several hours to produce the paperwork. service until I traded it in. I should have known something was wrong when I'd agreed on a price and it took several hours to produce the paperwork. The service experience was even worse. They couldn't care less when you take the care in. I had to hunt someone down to even sign in the car. After this, they had the gall to call and complain that I'd given them a bad review on the MB survey. More
Would very much recommend against this dealership. They wouldn't budge off MSRP for an SLK55. They claimed they would 'beat any deal' I could get and flat out lied about it. I was able to get $1700 off MSRP from another dealer and they refused to match it. They also gave me an EXTREMELY lowball offer on my Lexus SC430 trade in, they offered $40k on a car that has a blue book value of over $45k and refused to increase the offer one cent. The car sold less than 24 hours later to a private party for $47.5k. More
After getting a switch and bait ploy at the dealership in Steven's Creek, I walked into the dealership to see the exact CLK I wanted in terms of color and options, with the addition of the Command. Told the Steven's Creek, I walked into the dealership to see the exact CLK I wanted in terms of color and options, with the addition of the Command. Told the first sales peron, Franz, I wanted the car and got the deal done in 20 mins. I told him firmly that I got a deal from anoher dealership and if he matches it, it is done. No run-around and no BS.

As for the service department, it is great. No problem getting a loaner car and the people working there are real professional and polite. Steve Hooper, my service advisor is nothing short of great. Calls me to keep me informed of the status of the repairs and I don't even have to ask him for a loaner....it's assumed. I just relocated to Irvine and have already experience the difference by going to Flectcher Jones. Looks like it's going to be an impersonal experience but hopefully, they are competent. More
