At Auto Star, we strive to be transparent in all aspects of our service, including communicating diagnostic fees and timelines. While the $195 diagnostic fee is disclosed upfront, we understand your frustration regarding it not being waived upon completion of the repair. Many dealerships, including ours, follow different pricing models, and while we don’t waive the fee, it reflects the time and expertise of our certified technicians. We also regret the delay in communication and vehicle status updates. That’s not the level of service we aim to provide, and we are actively working on improving our internal processes to ensure better customer communication moving forward. As for pricing on parts, we use OEM factory parts to ensure quality and warranty compliance, and our pricing is based on manufacturer guidelines. Online prices can sometimes be lower due to different sourcing and shipping policies, but we acknowledge that clearer comparisons and explanations could be helpful. We're glad to hear the mechanical issue was resolved to your satisfaction, and we sincerely apologize if you felt undervalued as a customer. This is a typical canned response that I would expect. Obviously, they are used to responding to these issues, yet continue to over charge their customers with no regrets. Regarding the part quote on the internet. It was an OEM part and the exact same Part # as I had installed.
