When we finally got to the financing portion for the Passat we were looking at buying, the numbers were not adding up. With a $19K trade in value on our current car, we expected to have to finance $15. Passat we were looking at buying, the numbers were not adding up. With a $19K trade in value on our current car, we expected to have to finance $15.5K with the 0% for 72 months that was being offered at the time that the salesman kept throwing at us throughout his pitch. But when we saw the paperwork, the APR was 4.5% and the loan was for $17.6K. That was when everything went down hill quickly. The finance guys started backtracking and throwing out things like: “0% financing does not apply to this unit” ( this is the FIRST we heard of this! ) or “Because your car isn’t worth $19K, we can’t give you the new car for the lower price” (THAT was not what The salesman had been telling us!) or “You can’t expect to get $19K for your car when it’s not worth it, here is the print out we did on your car”. He handed me the KBB print out. or “We ARE giving you $19K for your car even though it isn’t worth it but you can’t expect us to not make up for that somewhere in the cost of the new car. That’s not how these deals work!” (When we hadn't been told otherwise, we most certainly can think this!) I got up to leave and Keith, the finance guy says, “You won’t get $19K for your car after today. NO ONE will give you $19K for your car. With that being said, what are you going to do now with your car?” Does this sound like a dealership you want to work with? Watch the numbers if you do! When they say they will give you a nice amount for your trade in, they WILL jack up the price on the other end, so in essence, you aren't getting that awesome trade in price they say they are, even when the papers reflect that. They will get their money back somewhere in this deal and it won't be by benefitting you. I've worked with dealerships before and Vaden Volkswagen is by far, the worst. The salesman, manager and finance department weren't talking to each other and it costs them in the end. I walked away very angry and haven't gone back there even to get my car serviced since. More
No written or oral estimate given prior to work being performed. i asked thew advisor when dropping the car off about cost and he insisted he will call before work was to be done. service manager lied performed. i asked thew advisor when dropping the car off about cost and he insisted he will call before work was to be done. service manager lied to me about estimate given. i told her where is the proof of estimate given and there was none, no signed repair order with a dollar amount or a time called with amount given. they did lower the labor rate, but that was before i even came to pick up the vehicle. i would have paid without issue, but i wanted to be informed of cost prior to work being done. the service manager was nice, the advisor should do his job better. there should be a procedure to follow so things like this dont happen. i am complaining about $65, imagine if it were $600.
