Questionable sales tactics I would not recommend buying a car here. I have purchased many vehicles throughout the years for personal and business use, so I understand that buyi I would not recommend buying a car here. I have purchased many vehicles throughout the years for personal and business use, so I understand that buying a car is not always a fun process. Usually more stress than anything. But this experience was one of the most unpleasant I've had. In short, we negotiated the vehicle price and made it back to the finance office where we were given a much higher interest rate than we expected. We have always qualified for advertised rates, and our credit score wasn't the issue. The sales manager told the finance guy to inflate the interest rate to make up for so called discounts that were given on the car. Lots of car manufacturers do that. However, they advertise it. It's either low APR or cash back. Volkswagen's website didn't say anything about an either/or incentive and it was never discussed during the process. In fact, the purchase price of the vehicle was actually pretty close to the advertised price of the vehicle. The interest rate we were given added about $2500 toward the final cost of the vehicle. The reason for the one star though has less to do with AutoNation, or Volkswagen's process, and more to do with how we were treated. After pointing out the rate disparity, my wife and I were basically shown the door. The sales manager isn't the only weak link in their process, but his lack of salesmanship and customer service is what prompted the review. Hope this is helpful to someone. More

Excellent Customer Service! I live in Knoxville, TN and ordered a car online. My husband and I worked with Kiara. She was amazing! She (and finance) accommodated all of my needs, as well as personally delivered the vehicle to my home. To elaborated on the level of personal service, there were 2 porters scheduled to deliver my vehicle on a Tuesday. That morning, one of the porters fell ill and had to be off of work. Kiara, my sales rep, came in on her day off and personally delivered the car to me (from Buford Georgia to Knoxville, TN) to ensure they delivered on their promise to have it to me by that day. Ruined what could have been a good experience. So, I saved enough money and I was set on purchasing a new VW GTI. While they had one I wanted, they low-balled me on my trade-in for minor reasons. So, I saved enough money and I was set on purchasing a new VW GTI. While they had one I wanted, they low-balled me on my trade-in for minor reasons. I ended up getting more since I was about to walk out the door. Financing is where they pissed me off. The finance guy, Ray ruined my buy by up-pricing me on a bunch of extra services, most of which I totally didn't need. OK, I can see some of the routine maintenance things, even though I had a warranty already, but he including near $2000 extra for some paint and cosmetic services. These things can be covered by insurance and I likely would never use it, and when I told him I really didn't want it, he basically just told me I do want it. What? Then, he gave me unwanted financial advice instead of listening to what I wanted. He basically said I should just make payments instead of paying it off because it depreciates in value. He ruined the whole experience. More

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! DO NOT BUY HERE! In near 30 years of buying new cars, I've never seen such gross incompetence. Long story short, the service department flat out LIED to me and to In near 30 years of buying new cars, I've never seen such gross incompetence. Long story short, the service department flat out LIED to me and to VW, resulting in a blown motor. The ultimate solution from them was split the cost of the new motor and work on getting a new car. It wasn't enough money to bother taking it to court ($4k split, so $2k out of my pocket). We traded the vehicle in on 10/16/17. When we did, they got a 10-day payoff, and requested the address and a contact for financial payoff so they could overnight payment. It's now 11/3, and my finance company has not received payment. I'm being put in collections because this dealership completely SUCKS. The finance manager just told me that they do not overnight anything. They just send 2 day, no tracking so they have no idea. This is the worst managed dealership I've seen in my life and I'd rather walk than deal with these people. More
