Went to buy a new VW GTI on 09/22; first I went to brand "F"; my family had purchased 10+ vehicles from the dealership group over the years. Surely, end of month, end of sales quarter, and (probable) end of "F"; my family had purchased 10+ vehicles from the dealership group over the years. Surely, end of month, end of sales quarter, and (probable) end of fiscal year deals could be had. Would not budge on price; but they did offer me a maintenance package - for $442 per oil change! Contacted brand "C" and asked via email for an out-the-door price; They declined to assist, stating, "Your presence is your leverage with pricing", and "When you come in and show that you are serious, then I can go to bat for you with the price". Then AutoNation. Anthony Schempre was professional, courteous, and very helpful. After about 10 (maybe less) minutes of negotiation, we came to terms - $2500 less than brand "F", who said that they would lose money on the deal. AutoNation's F&I department was also great. Although I had my own financing, (The Real) Paul Ryan was a pleasure to work with and made the transaction (relatively!) painless. Highly recommend Thanks! More
