Brought my Corolla to dealer for an airbag warning light that stayed on. Cost me $119 for a diagnostic and I asked for a full four-point inspection. They later quoted me over $1000 parts/labor for full “air that stayed on. Cost me $119 for a diagnostic and I asked for a full four-point inspection. They later quoted me over $1000 parts/labor for full “airbag assembly”replacement. Took it right after to a local mechanic shop and the very same day they found the issue was with the battery/terminals not supplying steady voltage to the airbag, tripping error codes and causing airbag light to turn on. They replaced the battery and terminals, fixing it for a third of the price! Very disappointed with the dealer since their full inspection report notes the battery was in good condition. It makes me wonder if the rest of their inspection could be trusted and if their mechanics were actually doing their jobs. Would have rated 1-star, but toyota rep was very courteous and didn’t try to pressure me to pay. More
