Normally have good service, not this time. Had a 12:15 appointment, showed on time only to wait 20+ min with no help. Had to leave my key and number with a rep cause I was late getting my son to a dr appo appointment, showed on time only to wait 20+ min with no help. Had to leave my key and number with a rep cause I was late getting my son to a dr appointment. No call to let me know status and 2 hours after I left a message asking for one. Went to pick up the car and could not find anyone to help me get it until one rep finally helped 25 min later. When the car came out, it was half washed with water spots all over it. They were busy, but this was bad. Not happy, but will give another chance as normally they are very good. More
I took my Toyota Prius to the Autonation Toyota Irvine Service Center for oil change this morning (05/29/21). I had made an appointment for 7:15 AM and arrived at 6:40 AM. An advisor named Thomas Kolb ass Service Center for oil change this morning (05/29/21). I had made an appointment for 7:15 AM and arrived at 6:40 AM. An advisor named Thomas Kolb assisted me at around 7:05 AM. He rushed through the process in less than a minute and didn’t even write down my license plate. He also got my cell phone number written down incorrectly till I reminded him to correct it. Before I could ask him if any other services were needed besides the oil change, he had already left and moved towards another car/customer. I waited from 7:05 AM till around 9:30 AM in the waiting room and then decided to check with Thomas Kolb why my car was still not ready, as I could see many other customers who came after me were already gone. He then came back to me about 15 minutes later and informed me that my paperwork was dropped on the ground earlier and he had just processed it a few minutes ago. I looked at my receipt later and found that my order was eventually entered at 9:38 AM (but Thomas Kolb should have entered my order shortly after 7:05 AM upon assisting me). I was able to finally get my car and left the service center at around 10: 35 AM (from 7:05 AM to 10:35 AM just for oil change). The reason I decided to write this complaint was not so much about the unreasonable delay, but it was mainly because Thomas Kolb did not even say a single word to apologize for his sub-par, poor service. He just casually told me the paperwork was dropped on the ground earlier and I needed to simply wait longer, treating it like it was no big deal. More
I bought Toyota Certified Used Car from Auto Nation Irvine in Feb 21. Then I took my car to maintenance for a regular service in April 21. Service guy told me that, there are some service items that I Irvine in Feb 21. Then I took my car to maintenance for a regular service in April 21. Service guy told me that, there are some service items that I need to pay around ~$1.000. Said just bought this car from here and you said everything was good. And he told me that, if you buy used car, you need to spend more money for that car and the total price will be the same as new one. I said, if my budget is enough to buy new car, I would do that but this is certified used car. He said, they don’t cover these service items and I have to pay this money sooner or later. Why didn't you check car properly before sold it!... because they sell it ASAP and make more money after they sold it. I was shocked and never buy any car from this dealership and never buy Toyota anymore. More
I brought my Toyota Sienna for brake service. The work was only on the front axle and I provided my own brake pads. The job included machining rotors. Total cost was $175. Later that day I was notified th was only on the front axle and I provided my own brake pads. The job included machining rotors. Total cost was $175. Later that day I was notified that my vehicle was ready for pickup. When I picked up the van and got home, I happen to read the technician memo. It said that the rotors were not machined. The reason made sense, but my service advisor failed to notify me that. In hind sight, I think he should have had the experience to look at my rotors and determine the job would not be complete, but that didn't happen. I called and left a voicemail for the service advisor. I did not get a call back. I called again the following day and reached the service advisor who said he wasn't able to discount the job even though they didn't complete the full service. So, he directed me to the voicemail of his Service Manager. I left a voicemail with an explanation and he did not call me back. I called again the next day and was sent to voicemail again. Again I left a voicemail, and again I did not receive a call back. It has been 4 days and still nothing. If this isn't an indication of how that service dept treats customers from the top down, I don't have any words. Culture starts from the leadership, and apparently customer service isn't on their priority list. I'd recommend going to an independent shop that honestly cares about their customers, or find another Toyota dealer other than Irvine Auto Nation Toyota that has the courage to be accountable and do the right thing. $175 to change brake pads on 1 axle is a clear example of "stealer-ship". I have a brand new 2021 Prius. I had an appointment at 1:30 PM. I arrived at 1:30 PM, there were no other cars when I entered. I was first in line. Dozens of cars came after me and were taken in for servicing as my car sat there. Finally at 2:30 PM, after I had complained, my car was finally taken in. Nobody could say why I had been left there for an hour when there weren't other cars to service. The service manager was rude and defensive with no explanation as to what had happened. I am badly traumatized by the experience. I hope I can go to another Toyota service department for servicing in the future. This service department should be closed down and everyone fired. More
I originally bought my car from this dealership. It's a used 2016 with ~55k miles. The service I received when buying my car was great. Of course, this was after they found out I was going to buy my car wi used 2016 with ~55k miles. The service I received when buying my car was great. Of course, this was after they found out I was going to buy my car with cash. (In other reviews, you'll see that other clients have gotten the run around only to find out that this dealership wont help them due to bad credit.) If I could give this review negative stars, I would. However, I'll just divide up this sole star to the good boys and girls. Eric Yune in sales is 100% customer service. He will definitely go out of the way for you. Sadly, Eric Yune cannot carry the weight of the dealership alone. Maybe if the rest of the dealership (service department included) picked up a book on basic customer service, then they'd have gotten atleast 4 stars. Eric Yune was great. The rest of the staff was extremely slow. The overall process to purchase with cash was 4-5 hours long. There were people there before me and they were still waiting when I was leaving. Expect a 6 or 7 hour wait if you are financing. Car was clean and waxed. Tank filled and ready to go. Here's the issue. Two weeks later, that's when strange noises, swaying, and vibrations started to happen. Driving on the freeway, I felt completely out of control of my car. So, I took my car to the service department (same dealership). I called ahead and made an appointment and spoke to a great service rep, Shantay (spelling?). She got me setup to come in at 8 am on a monday which is best since weekends are extremely busy. I made sure to arrive early and be ready to hand my car over. When I got into the garage, I wasn't greeted. Nobody informed me of who to talk to. I was left standing there completely lost. So I walked over to a gentleman sitting at a desk and asked who to talk to about an appointment, which I was rudely instructed to wait by my car and someone will help me. Okay, cool. Ill wait. Another 5 min goes by and Im greeted by a tapping on my driver side window by a man name, "Joe". I didn't have to guess. I knew that Joe hasn't worked a day in customer service just by how he greeted me, "What can we do for you". I went on to explain that I purchased this car two weeks ago- blah blah blah. And thats when I was interupted- Joe didn't want to hear it at all. He cuts me off and says again, "What can we do for you". I just cut to the chase and asked for an inspection of the noises I hear. But of course, thats after he scurries off to a teammate to exclaim, "I got a customer complaint". Rude. He comes back, jots down some notes and shoos me off. Off to work I go via one of their shuttles, which, btw, do not take. You will either be stranded for hours waiting, or you will be late to wherever it is you need to go. But hey, it's free. You've been warned. ONE AND HALF DAYS goes by and I haven't heard anything about my car. No calls. Nothing. So I call. After talking to roughly EIGHT different people across various departments, nobody knows who's working on my car or what it's status is. At one point, someone even called me to ask about my missed appointment for Monday at 8 am. Scary. Did you guys lose my car? That's when I requested to talk to a manager. A manager calls. His name is David. David, you are a light in that dim dealership. Take Eric Yune and run away. Far away. Anyways, David calls to inform me that the tech just looked at my car (A day and half later- no service done). He then tells me the tech didn't find anything wrong. At that point, that's when I requested to have my car ready for pick-up to take my business elsewhere. I got the same service as the first time. No greeting, no direction, Im an annoyance. So I found the nearest body and asked where to go. Was sent to the cashier. Seems like customary protocol. Pay and go. I waited 30 min. I paid $0.00 (obviously). I take the "valet" ticket to the garage. They lost my keys. AND they lost my car. Joe's desk was heavily searched. 15 min of searching, and 15 min later, my car comes around the corner. Never coming here again. More
All the service staff were excellent but the shuttle driver Don was a nightmare. He shouldn’t be working there. He was angry, speeding like a maniac, 1/2 hour late picking us up the first time and the driver Don was a nightmare. He shouldn’t be working there. He was angry, speeding like a maniac, 1/2 hour late picking us up the first time and then 1/2 hour early to pick us up the next time. Then, he came barging into our massage spa, loudly disturbing and embarrassing my wife and I and the other patrons while we were in the middle of our massage. Then, with no apology, speeds back to the dealership giving us grief all the way for having our phones off while in the spa, even though he was 1/2 hour early. This rude, scary maniac is a completely inappropriate employee for such a fine dealership. My guess is there was no background check done on this one and it makes me nervous even writing this for fear of retaliation. More
Toyota of Irvine ruined my car on a recall. It cost me 12,000.00out of pocket for a new engine from a shop that actually knew what they were doing. This AutoNation Toyota is a RIP OFF!!! There are numerous Toyota dealerships in the area and with one of the few I normally visit being closed I decided to come to Toyota of Irvine. This dealership is a rip Toyota dealerships in the area and with one of the few I normally visit being closed I decided to come to Toyota of Irvine. This dealership is a rip off and lacks customer service for new customers in just about every way. 1. brought in a Lexus and they wouldn’t honor a 25% off on an oil change coupon I printed off their website. Service advisor Thomas Kolb said since it’s not a Toyota so he won’t honor the coupon. I have NEVER had this issue with not one Toyota dealer in the area. It’s a Lexus, same car! 2. Said it can take up to 2 hours for an oil change even though I had an appointment! 3. $90 for a synthetic oil change when the actual Lexus dealer is $129. How this could have been remedied and eliminated the chance of an angry customer is honoring a coupon on your site. The coupon also clearly doesn’t state Toyota’s only. I’m here sitting in disgust in the service department and will never come back here again. Stay away from this place. Toyota’s aren’t rare and neither are Toyota dealers. Kayvon Larry More
