I had a very pleasant buying experience and got a good deal, but they will never see me again because their shop tried to soak me. Be warned. We have a nearly new Sienna Limited with 2,700 miles. We ended up with the tailgate ("rear door") misaligned because we tried to hold it shut as it was opening. AutoNation wanted to put on a whole new tailgate -- paint a new panel, take the whole thing apart, and put it back together! They proposed to charge me thousands of dollars and keep it in the shop for a week. Caliber Collision fixed it in a day for $182. When I was buying the car, I asked the salesperson why they beat every other dealer's price. They said they make it back in service. Now I know how they do that! Don't trust them! More
Bad service overall Do not buy or bring your Toyota for service at this dealership. They only care about getting your money. I have a 2009 Venza purchased from this dealership, and all maintenance done here as well. This model Venza had many issues, with the Check Engine Light (CEL) coming on a lot of times. I brought the car in for the CEL in August 2014, and was diagnosed with needing to replace the stop lamp switch (which was already replaced before as part of a recall) and replace the O2 sensor. A week later, the CEL came back on! The mileage at that time was 58784 mi. Due to busy schedule, I wasn't able to go back to this dealership right away. The CEL came on and off, so I thought maybe it was only a false alarm. Finally, I brought the car in to complain about the CEL; this was almost 2 months after the last service. The mileage at this time was 60210 mi, which meant it was 210 miles over the powertrain warranty. Also, it was over by 3 months from the 60-month powertrain warranty. The service advisor offered free diagnosis, since it hasn't been that long since the last service for what seemed like the same CEL issue. I was told that the codes for the new CEL pointed to failed coils, and I was looking at around $500 to get it fixed. But alas! They spent an hour or two trying to find the defective coil, but it turned out that wasn't the issue! The service advisor told me they had to run more tests and I had to leave the car (it was a Saturday); I was offered a compact courtesy vehicle in place of my crossover SUV. The following Tuesday, I was told about unbalanced pressure which could mean defective piston or engine. What?! Service advisor already made some calls including to the mothership. Since I was over the powertrain warranty (by a mere 210 mi. and 3 months), Toyota Corp said that they will cover the parts (either the pistons or the engine) if I would pay the labor. Ok great! Not really, because labor would cost either $2200 (if replacing engine) or $2300 (if replacing just the piston rings and gasket)! xxx!!! But if I decided to not pursue the repair, I would still be charged for all the diagnostics performed, which according to the service advisor was about 7 hours of labor. At about $150/hour, that is still a fortune! I felt like I'm trapped, and had no recourse but to authorize the work. Immediately after authorizing the work, I called Toyota's 1-800 number to beg for my case. I was told that if the district was already consulted by the dealership, that the decision was likely final. Great! So Tuesday and Wednesday came for more troubleshooting. I was still hoping that the engine would just be replaced to make it worthwhile to spend $2200. But Thursday came the bad news. Only the piston rings and gasket were going to be replaced. Finally, on Tuesday night, the car was ready and I eventually picked it up Wednesday. So it took 11 days for me to get back my car. Toyota and Autonation Irvine don't care about keeping their customers. Because if they did, they should have covered the cost of all the labor. A Toyota that had a near-replacement of the engine at 60k miles, that's almost unheard of. In hindsight, I should have brought this car to Culver Toyota. I have an insider at Culver Toyota who echoed my sentiment, and said that Culver would have covered the labor if I brought it there. Autonation Irvine just didn't care! And oh yeah, just to give you more examples of the exemplary service of Autonation Irvine... The technician lost my key for the wheel locks, and he didn't bother changing back the dash clock after the battery was disconnected. And smudge marks all over my beige leather seats. Add me to the list of former Toyota owners. Never again. I have 2 young kids and care too much for their safety. I won't gamble their safety on this Venza whose engine has been torn apart and put back by God knows how qualified their techs are. I thought Toyota stood for quality. That was a big mistake. More
I took my Prius here to get an oil change after getting a coupon in the mail for a discount. After leaving the dealership and making another stop for groceries, a warning light came on. I took the car back t coupon in the mail for a discount. After leaving the dealership and making another stop for groceries, a warning light came on. I took the car back to Power Toyota. First they claimed I had put diesel in my car instead of unleaded gas. They said they would drain the tank the next morning because it was almost closing time. I then found out the station I had bought gas from did not even sell diesel! Angry with Power Toyota's incorrect diagnosis, I called the next morning when they suddenly changed the diagnosis to an electrical problem that would cost over $600 to fix. I was about to pay them the money to fix it until I read another review online where someone had a similar problem with oil change then warning light from this SAME dealership. I decided I would not let them touch my car. I picked it up the next day, and mysteriously the warning light had disappeared. My car is running perfectly and continues to have no problems 1 month later. I will never take my car to this dishonest dealership again for service. More
I had been taking my wife's Sienna there for several years. A little over a year ago, I was told that the valve cover gaskets were leaking. Rather than spend $1,000 for them to fix, I had a friend replace the gaskets. The next few times in, I was told that he had missed a gasket and it was still leaking. Not seeing any evidence, I ignored their adice. Last time in, I was told that there is a major leak and that the timing belt was drenched in oil and also needed replacing. Their estimate for the work $1,500. I had my mechanic look into this, no sign of any leak, and the timing belt was bone dry. I will not be going back. More

I have a Toyota Corolla 2009,(had a good one) and I am staying in Orange County. I took my Car for the 10,000 Miles service to Power Toyota of Irvine. I was shown a plan for $98.99 which covers all kinds staying in Orange County. I took my Car for the 10,000 Miles service to Power Toyota of Irvine. I was shown a plan for $98.99 which covers all kinds of checks for 10000 miles. I had 2 additional issues, as 1) Vehicle Acceleration at higher speeds, is not switching to higher gear ratios, for a smoother drive. 2) Car, is not having a good pickup at lower gears. The Dealer took 1.5 Hrs to do all the test where they claim they did driving test, all fluid levels top up etc. These were my list of worse experience with them. 1) They had damaged, my car engine hood, where paint was chiped in 3 locations , possibly due to some tools used during service. (Careless handling) 2) Break fluid and other basic fluids not topped up properly. 3) Disk Break dust not cleaned properly in the front wheels. 4) Instead of 30 psi on all 4 tires, they have set 40 psi on each tyre. 5) When I gave the car for service, the only issue was, the 2 which ive mentioned at the top. But after the service, they added one more which made me pannic when i was driving on Interstate - 5(I-5) at 65miles/hr. A constant rubbing sound, a high frequency sound from the front. As soon as I press the breaks it goes off. Power Toyota, did not resolve the 2 issues i mentioned at the top. But introduced one more, and damaged my Car's Engine Hood by chippping off the paint. Service Men, Joseph , after all his mistakes, talks as if I am guilty of some wrong doing, when I talk about the wrong pressure setup for my car wheels as 40 psi. Service Manager, hates to walk out, and solve the problem. Customer Relations manager, spoke to me once, and told will talk to Both the service men and service manager and get back, but did not turn up at all. They have spoilt my weekend. They damaged my car. Introduced new problems. Took my car, in the name of fixing the problem, and have asked 3 to 4 more day, for fixing the problems they created and introduced to me and to my car. I have lost hope on my car, if it is any more a good car / or a good company. They say, I have to stay with what ever car I am given as a replacement for 3 to 4 days for rent. They have held my $50 in addition to all this nonsence , as a car rental hold, and have given me the worst of all, Chevy Cobalt. Also $8.99 every day, towards the Insurance which Enterprise (their rental service provider, wants me to take, as the dealer will not pay for it) I, mean, the dealer will not pay for what ever the problem they caused. Does your dealer mean, Chevy Cobalt is better than my Car which was running fine before I got it to them? All the only mistake I think i did was, I took it for a service at 10,000 Miles, to end up in this mess. I am very upset and the reason : 1) My week end was spoilt 2) I have taken the risk of driving the uncomfortable Chevy Cobalt 3) No Proper response from the delership who caused all this problem, i would say, its a disrespect for any customer who has gone through so much. 4) Spoiling my week 5) I have paid $98.99 + $50 (in hold) + $8.99 a day(till they give my car back from service). And all this amount, for none of my mistake. 6) The Careless sevice man, says that, since the service was completed ( it was completed with lot of faults to cause all this mess in my car), that they cannot even hold the payment of $98.99 dollars. But they will charge me, as it was done as per records. I am loosing money every day.. and is this what toyota wants to support? More
You will never find a fair estimate of the service they do at their workshop. I have gone two times to the facility and I have found very hard to deal with the service representatives. Let me give you an e do at their workshop. I have gone two times to the facility and I have found very hard to deal with the service representatives. Let me give you an example: For my 1997 camry, 4 cylinder I had leak coming behind the Timing belt for which it was estimated for $380 + Tax in total. It was for worst case scenario. So I left my car at the facility to have the work done. But after a day, I was told that the cost will be $542 + tax for the same repair. And the reason for teh increase was the earlier estimate given was for 6 Cylinder and not for 4. 4 Cylinder is more complicated to work :). The same type of experience has happened to my another friend. So think twice before going to this facility. I will certainly not recommend anyone. Good luck More

Anyways, I noticed that 07 Camry's have headlights where one of them is dimmer than the other and I've seen it on his and others driving around. I told him to ask if they could replace that and the service guy said that "they were built that way" and my brother, being nice, just agreed. Afterwards, I was angry with the service rep's answer. Maybe that's why Toyota's ratings have slipped if uneven headlights are "built that way." Ridiculous. More
