This is a dealership with a VERY pushy sales staff. Very aggressive. They try to make you think what they want you to think. He argued that I may do something like show or tell the quote to another dealership and not call him again. So? As consumers that's what we do, I replied. I understand that bypassing the sales staff, or at least having that illusion, and going directly to the fleet management may step out of the area of customer service behavior and into regular negotiation behavior. Still, this made a bad impression for me. I also physically went there to look at a used truck. The stereo was incomplete with no bass or sub woofer. The option on the Alpine control was there, but made no difference when I tested the stereo system. There was a wire sticking out of the bed liner, which they said will be fixed if purchased. I put the truck into consideration. They said it would be gone by the weekend. As of yesterday, it's still there, about a few weeks after I first saw it in my first visit there. I dealt with a number of staff members and friendliness and customer service varied so I rated it a 3. On the phone Toby said they'd put in a sub woofer in the used Tacoma if purchased. I asked if I can have an independent mechanic check the truck before deciding on it. He said that I can do it after the purchase, which defeats the purpose of having it checked. I asked again, he went to explaining their 160 something point Certified inspection program. I asked a third time and finally he said I could, as long as the mechanic can check it right away and the vehicle isn't left there overnight. That last answer would have been acceptable and completely fair if it was the first answer he had given me. But instead it took a while to get that out of him. When discussing numbers in person, whenever I explained(in a non aggressive manner) that I'm looking at other dealerships, I got aggressive responses like how I wouldn't find as good a deal or vehicle at any other place. As if that will make me decide right there to stay at the place and complete a deal. Needless to say, I didn't buy a vehicle there. More
You will never find a fair estimate of the service they do at their workshop. I have gone two times to the facility and I have found very hard to deal with the service representatives. Let me give you an example: For my 1997 camry, 4 cylinder I had leak coming behind the Timing belt for which it was estimated for $380 + Tax in total. It was for worst case scenario. So I left my car at the facility to have the work done. But after a day, I was told that the cost will be $542 + tax for the same repair. And the reason for teh increase was the earlier estimate given was for 6 Cylinder and not for 4. 4 Cylinder is more complicated to work :). The same type of experience has happened to my another friend. So think twice before going to this facility. I will certainly not recommend anyone. Good luck More
Very BAD experience. Wasted 3 hours to get screwed. They sat us down and asked us what we were looking for. When we wanted to see the carfax on it, it showed the speedometer had been turned back and the car had been in a major accident. When we insisted we didn't want that car and my mother was already in our car, Perry, a manager, showed up and told me he would give me a 2006 Toyota for $11,000 out the door. After test driving it and taking the offer, we sat downwith our salesman and Perry. Perry started haggling back and forth with me. We told him his offer was $11,000 and that was what we wanted, he told us he could go as low as $11,400. We hesitated because it wasn't what he had promised, so he offered us another car, older and twice the mileage, but with leather seats. By this time we were tired and didn't really want to test drive another car. Especially if Perry wasn't going to deliver what he promised afterward. But the kicker came when we told him we would just take the Toyota for $11,400 and he told us he said he had offered no less than $13,900. That was the price on the windshield! We're still not sure if they were trying a "bait and switch" thing with us, or if they just thought we were stupid... Just BEWARE. They're bad news!!! More
Power Toyota Irvine is THE WORST dealership around. I was a victim of their games, they advertised a car for $12,994 and when I called up to inquire about the vehicle they all of a sudden said the ad pri was a victim of their games, they advertised a car for $12,994 and when I called up to inquire about the vehicle they all of a sudden said the ad price was in error and the car was actually $16,900. I got an email in writing from an internet sales manager Ken Baniff who said he would honor the ad price of $12,994, I responded to him and no word back, apparently it was his day off, so once I finally got ahold of the internet sales manager David Reed he said he would not honor the ad price and that he was also going to fire Ken, after we went back and forth for a day and a half I got a call from another internet sales manager named Ryan Lake who said he would honor the ad price and I should come in, well when I asked if the car was still there he said he had to go check, I called 6 times and asked about the status of the car so I could plan to come down on my lunch break, finally hours later they said the car had been auctioned off. What they were trying to do is cover their arse's for mistakenly listing a lower ad price or this is how they get you involved and get you to come in and get you to buy something full priced or overpriced off their lot because the "AD" car is suddenly unavailable, well I didn't fall for it, neither should you. I will also note that I am a cash customer so they were low on options of scamming me on the bumped up interest game they always pull through their financing companies, that is one reason why I feel they wanted to get rid of me because I was not a stupid "sign anything" customer BEWARE OF THIS DEALER UNLESS YOU ARE STUPID AND LIKE TO PAY ABOVE FULL PRICE AND DON'T CARE WHAT CAR YOU BUY BECAUSE THE ONE YOU SAW ADVERTISED WILL BE GONE!!!!! I didn't understand why he didn't just tell us when we were there at the frontdesk, probably because he didn't want others to hear. Next weekend, we went again and dealt with a pushy salesman who tried to sell us a year old, 6,000 mile fully loaded Camry SE for $30K before taxes and fees! Not only was carpet on side coming out, but it had scratches on it. Anyways, we continued to look for cars and he told me not once, but twice that the price I wanted to get the car for was crazy and that I was "looking at the wrong car". Afterwards, i did quotes online and received quotes $5,000 below what he wanted. After I told somebody about my experience, they said the same about the Power group in general, that they are very unethical and high pressure/pushy. I would NOT recommend them or even bother to give them my money. More

Anyways, I noticed that 07 Camry's have headlights where one of them is dimmer than the other and I've seen it on his and others driving around. I told him to ask if they could replace that and the service guy said that "they were built that way" and my brother, being nice, just agreed. Afterwards, I was angry with the service rep's answer. Maybe that's why Toyota's ratings have slipped if uneven headlights are "built that way." Ridiculous. More
I made a 9:15AM oil change appointment. I got there on time, they checked me in, took my truck, then as we were doing paperwork, they told me the wait would be 2 hours. Very bad experience. Went at 3:00 PM and did not let me go out. Very bad deal and very pushy. Finally after the deal is over the finance/cashier said they generally recommend security system. I have never been this unhappy with a car purchase in my life or as a customer. My experience at Power Toyota Irvine was a one time mistake. Brian Cole, the finance manager, rip me off with the extended warranty and screwed up my loan process. Yet, he did not have the decency to apologize or return my phone calls. It is a shame that as a manager he treated his customers this way. I am even more disappointed that the people of Power Toyota Irvine has done nothing to resolve this problem. As to the future, i will not have any kind of association with Power Toyota Irvine and so will be my family and friends. I hope they will realize that it costs 4x more to built a new customer than to keep a customer. More
