2025 Tacoma — Dealer-Installed Wheels Causing Rubbing, Now Refusing to Fix (AutoNation Toyota Irvine) Hi all, Sharing my experience to warn others and get some advice. I bought a 2025 Toyota Taco Now Refusing to Fix (AutoNation Toyota Irvine) Hi all, Sharing my experience to warn others and get some advice. I bought a 2025 Toyota Tacoma brand new from AutoNation Toyota Irvine in April 2024. The dealership had pre-installed oversized wheels with aggressive offset as part of a “visual upgrade.” The look sold me — but less than 3 weeks later, I noticed the tires were rubbing badly when turning. I brought the truck back immediately. Here’s what happened next: • The dealership refused to give me any written inspection report • They suggested I “downgrade” to smaller wheels — which completely defeats the reason I bought the truck • After I declined, they cut off all communication • On May 20, they let my loaner expire — and left me without transportation • My Tacoma is still with them, untouched To confirm I wasn’t crazy, I hired Lemon Squad for a third-party inspection. Their report clearly states that the current wheel setup, installed by the dealer, creates a safety hazard due to insufficient clearance. I’ve now: • Filed a complaint with Toyota Corporate (Case #: 250514001956) • Submitted official reports to BBB and California BAR Still no response. No repair. No accountability. If anyone else has dealt with AutoNation Toyota dealers modifying trucks before delivery, I’d love to hear your experience. This has been the most frustrating ownership start I’ve ever had. I’m attaching the inspection report and dealer name below. Appreciate any advice or if there are legal options I should consider. Truck: 2025 Toyota Tacoma Dealer: AutoNation Toyota Irvine VIN: 3TMLB5JN2SM111678 Mods installed before delivery: Oversized aftermarket wheels, extreme offset Result: Tire rubbing, dealer silence, official complaints filed More
