I wish I could have given this dealership a higher rating because from the initial interaction they seemed promising. I recently bought a 2022 RAV4 XLE. To say the least I am dissatisfied with how I was trea because from the initial interaction they seemed promising. I recently bought a 2022 RAV4 XLE. To say the least I am dissatisfied with how I was treated. I was in the market to get a new car and out of all the dealerships in the Bay Area AutoNation Hayward had the lowest price point for used cars. I found a 2019 RAV XLE for $33K. I inquired about the vehicle and within a few minutes I was contacted by Grachelle. She was nice and responsive. I went and saw the car in person. It had a few dings and I asked for an out the door cost. She ran the numbers and told me $37k which I thought wasn't a bad price. I asked if she could quote me the same model of car with ALL the features the 2019 car had (moonroof, fog lights, roof racks, alloy wheel locks, edge guards, paint protection, tow hitch receiver, convivence and weather packaged) in the 2022 model. She was against it, and kept trying to push the 2019 model. I was persistent and she gave me the quote for the 2022 model. The 2022 with ALL the same features/ accessories the 2019 model had was only $300 more. It was a no brainer to go with a BRAND NEW car for only $300 more. Even after comparing the two models she continued to push the 2019 model. I was in no rush at all and said I can wait for the 2022 model. I was adamant on making sure the 2022 was going to have EVERYTHING 2019 model had. I had trade in and was quoted $6k. Around March she lets me know she will be off on the next allocation day and her coworker Vinnie will help me. “G” becomes unresponsive with updates and communication. I get a text saying the car I want is going to arrive and I’m asked to sign an agreement. I don't know how to read the paper and I texted “v” a picture of the 2019 model and asked him if this 2022 model will be that exactly like the 2019 model with all the same features and amenities. He replied "yes, please sign" I signed because I was trusting that “G” explained to him what I wanted. They required a $500 deposit to secure the car. I did everything they asked. After everything has been paid and signed I ask for a rough ETA of when it will arrive, he said he will check and let me know. He never did.I had to reach out to them constantly for updates. At one point “G” completely stopped texting me back which was very unprofessional. The car finally arrived at the dealership.She asked me to come that same day.I let her know that I cannot come in because I had prior engagements.She asked me to come that day because she leaves work early Saturday and would be off on Sunday.She sent me a picture of the car and immediately noticed that there are no Roof racks, and the car looks different to me. At the time, I could not pinpoint what it was, because I was taken off guard with the missing Roof racks. She replies with " no, remember you're gonna order with us?" I was a bit confused because I thought it was already in the price that was initially discussed. She later tells me it's going to be an extra $315 cost. Um, what? I was very annoyed to say the least because I was very adamant with her from the beginning of what I wanted. I get to the dealership and she shows me the car, but doesn't offer a test drive.At this point it's time for the trade-in. They offered me $5k. I fought it because I was quoted $6k initially. They try to say it's because of the scratches and dents. They were there when I got quoted $6k.luckily I kept all the paperwork. After taking a closer look at the car, what was missing was fog lights, two hitch receiver,front bumper film protection and of course the roof racks.I have brought up these issues to “G”she replied with “you reserved the vehicle with V not me.” Ultimately I am really disappointed that I was not given what I was promised. I had to constantly check in with her and she would take DAYS if not weeks to reply back. My advice for anyone coming here is to make sure you write down any and all details you verbally discuss and make sure you keep that documentation. Very disappointed. More
