I dropped off my car for a noisy air conditioning diverter motor. The driver side was pushing out warmer air than the passenger side. The motor was replaced with a labor fee of $300 (Note: easy acc diverter motor. The driver side was pushing out warmer air than the passenger side. The motor was replaced with a labor fee of $300 (Note: easy access and 3 screws). I tested the temperature when I got home with an infrared thermometer. The passenger air temp was at 54 degrees while the driver side was at 64 degrees. I called my service adviser and he spoke with the technician who said that the air coming out was cool, but he did not test it with a thermometer. I also checked the movement of the diverter motor and when the temperature setting is set to LOW, the diverter appears to not fully travel to the opposite side of HEAT. So, apparently, the technician did not hook up the computer to the system to check the position, functionality, and proper calibration of the motor / damper. My service advisor said that he will be back on Friday, I will bring the vehicle back then so the air conditioning can be properly repaired. Thank you. More
My RAV4 wouldn’t start and was towed in for service. The next day when I picked up the car the service manager couldn’t tell me what the problem was. The representative was friendly and efficient. I really liked him and hope I can deal with him again next time I come in. They did notice some other things that needed to be done and asked me if I wanted to do them at this point, and I agreed, so that although I thought that this regular one year maintenance would be very low cost, I ended up paying several hundred dollars unexpectedly. I appreciate that they take the time to see what else the car may need so that there is not an expected breakdown and repair problem. The car runs great and the dealership is very efficient and friendly. I just need to remember that I need to have a bit more in my bank account whenever I bring the car in. More
