I came in here skeptical and ready to fight with everyone to get what I want. I am pretty intense and judgmental when it comes to car dealerships. I have had some gnarly experiences. To my delight I cal to get what I want. I am pretty intense and judgmental when it comes to car dealerships. I have had some gnarly experiences. To my delight I called on an SUV and got Dave U on the phone. He was kind and helpful, super patient with me as well. I felt like I was talking to a friend that wanted to help me out. So the next day we drove 40 miles to check out this SUV and really liked it. There were are couple things not functioning on it, but he promised it would be taken care of at no additional cost. There also was a pretty damaged headset and he promised he would order two new ones. So we purchased the vehicle. Everyone was sooooo nice! It was pretty smooth and got a great finance rate considering someones credit score. I got a call from Dave U saying that the second headset wasn't approved from his manager, so I called and left a message with them and reach Shawn C and he said he already approved it. He was super nice. I honestly felt like I made another new friend. I returned today (a couple weeks later) to get the few items repaired on the vehicle. There was a ding in the windshield. When it was being examined, their windshield guy Mel Moon from Moon Glaze noticed another crack. Free of charge they fixed everything and the Moon Glaze guarantees the windshield. If it ever cracks or breaks in these spots again, they will replace the whole windshield. So awesome. Mel was really cool and professional and super kind. I was "wowed" by everyone's kindness and keeping me informed. So the service guy I worked with was Igor. Igor was great! He was kind, informative, always available to answer my questions. When I met him the first time rolling in, he shook my hand and handed me his business card which had 3 numbers to reach him on including his cell phone...which he answers! I really felt valued. I also worked with Dave U to get all my parts that he ordered. He was working another customer and at the same time helping me. He really is great! I completely recommend everyone to work with him. He keeps promises. I was there from 11 am to 3 pm, but they fixed quite a bit. I even had time to haggle t-mobile in the mall a block away. I told you I was intense...haha!! I didn't get my way with t-mobile by the way. :( So that's about it. I am so impressed with this dealership. I am amazed it got such negative reviews. I am thankful for Dave U, Shawn C, and Igor P. :) More
My boyfriend and I found the car we wanted through an AutoNation Direct representative, who called Power Toyota of Cerritos and set us up an appointment. We arrived at the dealership on July 26, 2010 and AutoNation Direct representative, who called Power Toyota of Cerritos and set us up an appointment. We arrived at the dealership on July 26, 2010 and test drove a used 02 Toyota Camry. The car drove like a dream and the interior was completely immaculate. We fell in love with it. Our Sales Representative Brad Weber did not pressure us into buying the car or additional add-ons and we felt confident signing all the paperwork. After running home and returning with a 50% deposit in the form of a check, we were issued a temporary registration for our new used car. Another sales representative offered to put it in the window of the car for us. Before the test drive, Brad Weber informed us that the car was about to be repainted due to a very obvious scuff on the front bumper. After we purchased the car, Weber suggested that we might leave the car to finish its paint job and return on Friday (July 30, 2010) to pick the car up. As we were driving down from LA County on Friday, we received a call from our AutoNation representative who told us the dealership just contacted her and wanted to let us know we could come down and pick up our car. Less than five minutes later, Power Toyota of Cerritos called us and told us they had "accidentally" sold the car we had purchased on Monday. Our AutoNation representative told us that this could not have happened on accident, because when we purchased the car on Monday, their records would have been updated and the car would have been listed as sold. We contacted the dealership, who told us they had already deposited our check. My boyfriend called his bank and tried to put a stop payment on the check. On Saturday, July 31, 2010, we returned to the dealership to get an explanation. The general sales manager Dave Canova was very unapologetic. He explained that the car had gone into the garage to get painted and had miraculously come out with no temporary registration in the front window. They put the car out onto the floor and sold it to someone else on Wednesday (July 28, 2010). Even though they had sold the car on Wednesday, they still deposited our check on Friday. Canova admitted the mistake and tried to offer a better car for the same price we paid. Unfortunately, the cars he offered did not come near the condition of the car we originally purchased. In addition, we were reluctant to relinquish any more money to a dealership that breached our contract. We respectfully declined his offer and left the dealership. Yesterday (August 3, 2010), Power Toyota of Cerritos had the gall to call my boyfriend and demand our cancelled check back. The representative claimed that they had delivered the car and that we should be fulfilling our end of the bargain. The representative continued to harass my boyfriend even after he had explained the situation. Long story short: Do not purchase from Power Toyota of Cerritos. They have had a history of misleading and cheating their customers, as evidenced by other abysmal reviews and its recent entanglement (03/04/10) with the district attorney for making false statements to customers in an effort induce consumers to lease. Internet sales manager has not integrity in what he promised. Promised me a free oil-change if he couldn't match my current price. Not only did not not match my promise but failed to follow through w promised. Promised me a free oil-change if he couldn't match my current price. Not only did not not match my promise but failed to follow through with free oil change. He encouraged me to come a day later so that he could speak with his GSM. Even with my dealer invoice in hand, they did not believe my price, therefore did not match or beat my offer. More
I would like to let everyone know what a terrible experience my wife and I had this weekend. Cerritos Power Toyota is no doubt a big dealership, but to be treated as if your money doesn't matter to experience my wife and I had this weekend. Cerritos Power Toyota is no doubt a big dealership, but to be treated as if your money doesn't matter to them is appalling. Buying a car is never a fun experience. Everyone knows that it takes a long time (four or five hours) for everything to be processed and for everyone to do their song and dance. What gets me the most is that the sales person said that they had the car in the color that we wanted and then suddenly before we get there the car is sold. Then, before we leave straight off the lot he tells us that they are bringing in the car in the color that we wanted from another Power dealership. Oops, in transit the car was sold. Wow, I am amazed that the sales people are so good that while a car that is supposed to be brought over to the Cerritos lot for us is sold on the way over. Man, did they think that I was born yesterday. If you don't have the color and the car that we want say it and let's not waste 2.5 hours of our lives for nothing. Not only were we frustrated that the car that we wanted not available, which they had confirmed twenty minutes before we arrived, but they tried to inflate the costs for all the options. Toyota/Scion has pure pricing so whatever options you add on is what you pay, but when we called them out on the prices they tried to make up excuses about variations of the option and installation cost. None of those costs were inflated at the Buena Park Power Toyota Dealership. Our service and treatment was so much better at Buena Park Power Toyota than at Cerritos. They may be a small dealership, but they treat you like they respect your time, money, and your business. More
I am an AZ resident. I spoke with Peg Heng on the phone to purchase a Black 2009 Camry Hybrid and have it shipped to me. She took a $3,500.00 deposit on my credit card to hold it for me and told me to fly to purchase a Black 2009 Camry Hybrid and have it shipped to me. She took a $3,500.00 deposit on my credit card to hold it for me and told me to fly down to take care of the paperwork. I spent the weekend (on vacation) booking a flight and arranged for a shipping company to transport the car. Two days later I received a call from Peg saying that the car was "accidently" sold to someone else. At this point I am trying to get them to cover my out of pocket expenses. After the error was originally discovered Peg told me they would cover these expenses. Later she called me and said she wasn't sure they would be able to. So far I am out $100.00 for a deposit with the shipping company who is scheduled to pickup the car tomorrow. I tried to cancel the order but since it is Memorial day weekend I was unable to get a hold of the shipping company. More
This review is for service from Power Cerritos. Notice I have one for sales and one for service! ;) Okay, so we purchased an alarm for the Yaris. We were told it would be 48 hours from the time we drive o have one for sales and one for service! ;) Okay, so we purchased an alarm for the Yaris. We were told it would be 48 hours from the time we drive off until we receive a phone call to set up an appointment to schedule for installation. Well, it took over a week and that includes my girlfriend calling twice and me e-mailing Maria Gamino, who I think really got the ball rolling. *Thanks for her* 'Cause shortly after I sent the e-mail, my girlfriend scheduled her appointment. We came early to the appointment and were greeted by God knows who- and it wasn't a greeting really and there was no introduction. It should have been Trevor, but he was busy. They told us it may take up to three hours, but luckily it took them about an hour. Thankfully, there's a Lucille's Barbecue around the corner. So if you, for whatever reason, do decide to get service here...go there to eat! Mmm-mmm Hooey! Once they finished, they did promptly call us but no-one really gave a quick walkthrough of the system. Hence, the poor marks on Customer Service. They should really step it up a few notches over there. Needless to say, my gal wants her service at Penske from now on- 'cause they give carwashes with major services. More
So here's how this works- I scoured all of southern Cali for dealer quotes before bringing a price on an MSRP quote to my guy, Andy Vu, at Penske. Andy had the car in stock, but unfortunately not in the co for dealer quotes before bringing a price on an MSRP quote to my guy, Andy Vu, at Penske. Andy had the car in stock, but unfortunately not in the color we wanted. We were looking at a Yaris Liftback with CF, KE, FE and PP-HB codes. The quote, as almost every dealer had told me, was insane. They would lose too much money on a quote like that (but that's my guy for you- you research a price and he'll kill it). Only two dealerships wanted to play ball: Power Cerritos and Symes in Pasadena. We opted for the one who could match the deal. Symes had a good deal, but we didn't want to plunk down an extra $500 on navi and an exhaust tip. I was in constant contact with Maria Gamino and she set up the deal with her Internet Director's approval (Jon Weber). We came this past Saturday and got everything as described. No haggle, the price was as negotiated before rebate. The APR was a bit high to at 7.75%, but ultimately, it didn't matter enough to affect the deal. Richard was there to get the deal through as it was Maria's day off. About the only salesmanship that tried to occur was Jesse trying to sell us insurance/protection plans and a car alarm. We did opt for the alarm, but I got him to knock $100 off. The only problem in the transaction was that we were at the dealership for close to 6 hours. Ugh! At least there were complementary beverages, burgers and hot dogs on the grill and the NCAA tourney on the big flatscreens. Bottom line: find the car you want and the options you want, research your price on standard MSRPs, get multiple quotes, go to someone you know can beat all of them, and know your credit score. If your go-to person doesn't have the whip you want, shop the price through other dealerships. Oh, and most important of all, try to close the deal only toward the end of the month! More
Called in morning and asked for Fleet Sales, sales person lied and led me to wrong department. Stopped by in morning, then called 30 minutes before scheduled return time in evening. After one hour of promis lied and led me to wrong department. Stopped by in morning, then called 30 minutes before scheduled return time in evening. After one hour of promises about $1000 over invoice, offer was $1500 over. Car was still not out and ready to see after 2 hours! (should have walked out). They aplogized and offered free security upgrade, then charged me $800 when for it when I was too tired to notice. BEWARE! More
I am a very serious shopper looking for a Toyota Corolla LE automatic w/ Audio Value Package. Power Toyota Cerritos said they had the car on special and for me to come on down, but would not send me an LE automatic w/ Audio Value Package. Power Toyota Cerritos said they had the car on special and for me to come on down, but would not send me an email to guarantee any price. I told them I am live an hour away and I'm very serious about buying this model car, but wanted to have a confirmed price before I drove down there. They said it's not their policy to guarantee price. Maybe their prices blow with the wind??? Sounds like a shady business, one that I wouldn’t want to do business with. And I would like to pass that on to others. Sincerely to all, J Calig. P.S. I did find a reputable dealer and got a Great Deal quote e-mailed to me. The car will be ready tomorrow; they started the paperwork with a FAX and Credit Card. I'll write about my experience there tomorrow :-) More
