They diagnosed it as an O ring failure, which required a complete engine repair for over $8K. Within a year, the engine started smoking again, and they now diagnosed it with a failure of the cross-over pipe (something the service manager had never seen before). Needless to say, this ran another $4K. I asked if this could be related to the engine running hot after the first repair (which they blew off as no big deal), and he said "maybe." Unfortunately the engine again failed in 9 months due to the engine again get hot from unclear reasons and Autonation again refuses to honor any of their previous work. What are the chances for 3 major repairs within 3 years with similar outcomes of the engine running too hot?!!! Luckily another dealership is willing to change the engine for $4200, which would have been the best option when the engine first failed. I asked the service manager why they didnt offer that and they said they just don't (likely because it doesn't allow them to cheat you out of a lot of additional costly repairs). You have been warned - STEER CLEAR OF THESE CROOKS. More
2016 WRX Premium. Tired of this service department and their shady practices. Arrived with a TSB, literally states in the TSB ("defective clutch") for A/C unit. The Tired of this service department and their shady practices. Arrived with a TSB, literally states in the TSB ("defective clutch") for A/C unit. The liar at the front counter (Steven) tells me "no it's not a defective part, this is just for us to make sure we put an updated part on it". However the TSB states "...compressor clutch is defective". My vehicle falls in the window of the bad serial numbered A/C units. Then he tells me "well you are out of warranty". I said "why should that matter, its a defective part doomed to fail". he just said "sorry". This is the same guy that after the service department ruined my transmission 4-5 years ago, he tried to blame me. So I already knew I was dealing with the worst of them (Steven), and was going to get push back. It wasn't until I came back for the 6th time that they replaced my transmission for free; after they figured out they had improperly put a part on which lead to the failure of my transmission. It was the same guy (Steven), and he acted like he was doing me a favor. I remember him telling me "well, we really shouldn't be replacing this, but as a favor we are going to get you a new transmission." How absurd!, YOU RUINED IT, THEN YOU ACTED LIKE YOU HELPED ME. So... When I walked in and saw he was my "service advisor" I knew he would try to be shady and get around the Service Bulletin from SUBARU. My next car is definitely not going to be a Subaru. More
I went in for my 18,000 mile service appointment. I was promptly greeted. They took my car back right away and led me inside for a seat and some snacks. This dealership has won my trust and my business by the high quality work they perform on my unit, by their honesty in regard about what the unit needs versus trying to sell all kinds of not needed services and/or parts, by their professionalism and I have always good interactions with all the team members. I drive from Peoria to Scottsdale every time I need parts or service for my unit and I not only enjoy the trip but also I'm looking forward to see and interact with my automotive partners.
