Raj was my service rep and did an excellent job of getting me in and out of the service department in 90 minutes. Free car wash was an added bonus. This time I called a few weeks ahead to see if Autonation did windshield replacements, and if so, to make an appointment to get my cracked windshield replaced in addition to the regular maintenance service. did windshield replacements, and if so, to make an appointment to get my cracked windshield replaced in addition to the regular maintenance service. I was called by my service advisor late in the afternoon the day before my appointment, to tell me that windshields must be ordered ahead of time and that he doesn't get notified of the work to be done until 3PM the day before a given appointment. I was frustrated because I had made the appointment weeks earlier, I'd already made arrangements for the trip down, and I didn't know what I should have done differently to ensure the replacement windshield would be installed when I arrived. This is not the first time I've made an appointment for specific work to be done, only to discover that the parts needed for the work would not be available for installation on the day of the appointment. On the upside though, my advisor kindly gave me contact information for a local third party for an after-market windshield. It will be a while before I can dedicate another day to getting the windshield replaced as my schedule is pretty full, but at least I know who to call when I get the time. More
