The mechanic arrived onsite and there was some confusion about the service although when scheduling the appointment, the process includes adding specific information about the needed repair. The mechanic called his manager, and he had the manager on speaker phone; the manager was VERY unprofessional and rude. The manager's solution to the confusion about making the repair was "either the customer wants a diagnostic (extra $189), or he can take his chances and just get the repair ($457), or if he gets both, he will be charged for both. If he doesn't want that, then just charge him a $50 cancellation fee and leave." Instead of trying to clear the confusion the manager made it worse, and I was infuriated that he would talk about a customer in that manner. The mechanic hung up and was clearly embarrassed by the manager and apologized for his behavior saying that he was stressed and had a lot going on. I told the mechanic that I was very upset and that he didn't need to apologize for someone else's behavior, especially his boss. The Mechanic was Professional and represented AutoNation respectfully at all times and made the repair. I had NO issues with the mechanic. Great Job! I am a disabled U.S. Army retired veteran, and the mechanic told me that I could "possibly" get a military discount. He called that same rude and unprofessional manager again, and when he asked, the manager said, " he can either get the military discount or get the drive belt (approx. $26) free. His tone was just as rude and condescending as the first call, and I felt very DISRESPECTED as a veteran for him to act as though I was an inconvenience after I already was about to give $457.00. To close out the service and get it over with, I just paid, thanked the mechanic for his great work and told him how unprofessional and infuriating that his manager was, and that tells me all I need to know about how the manager views customers. I cannot recommend this service again thanks to the horrible service and communication from the manager. I would recommend the mechanic JUAN. More
