Dealership did not keep the appointment they scheduled two days earlier. I arrived at the appointed time and was told that they did not have the tires for my car. Long story short, I had to have a frien two days earlier. I arrived at the appointed time and was told that they did not have the tires for my car. Long story short, I had to have a friend and his wife drive to the dealership all the way from Yorba Linda so that he could drive my car home after sunset. I could have been told that the dealership was not ready to service my car and avoided all the problems they created for me. Also, when I called the service department to find the status, I was connected with an off-site person who was not able to do anything. I ended up calling the sales department and a very helpful salesperson went to the service department and told them to call me. No one offered me an explanation why they did not reschedule or why they did not keep me informed of the status so that I would not have had to make other arrangements to get my car home. More
If you are looking to purchase a used vehicle from this dealership please read below. I purchased a 2016 Toyota Truck (higher mileage but dependable 5.7L V8). After purchasing "As-is", I drove it home and dealership please read below. I purchased a 2016 Toyota Truck (higher mileage but dependable 5.7L V8). After purchasing "As-is", I drove it home and the car was shaking on the highway and the timing chain was very loud. I emailed the dealership about vibration on highway, they said it is as is and nothing can be done. I also emailed dealership about timing chain noise and they said they were not aware. It turns out the truck was purchased by someone else and they returned it one month prior to me purchasing and that buyer provided the dealer an inspection report they had from a Mechanic that showed over $9,000 in repairs. These issues should have been caught in their 50-point inspection that they advertise. Both the Toyota dealership and small mechanic I took it to found these same issues. I went to Autonation to discuss in person and the sales manager said that the person that returned the truck did not tell them about any issues and it is as-is and they will not do anything about it. They said I should have returned it within the 250 mile grace period but i had trusted a big dealership like Autonation would fix these types of issues so I did not take it for a checkup until 2,000 miles later when I had time to. I spoke to previous owner/buyer and they confirmed that they told Autonation all of the issues the truck had when they returned it. Autonation offered to do all repairs on the truck if he kept it, he said. He told them he just wants to return it. I then reach out to the General Manager and point out that I was told false information about not knowing about the invoice/issues from the truck shop and that either way the 50-point inspection should have caught all of these items but the General Manager called me to tell me that they will not be taking the truck back nor would they be repairing it since it was sold As-is. I now have to take the truck straight to a shop to have $9,000 in repairs done after paying top dollar (over 25k) on a truck for my family. 1) if you buy used from them, take it straight to a mechanic within the 5 day/250 mile period 2) do not count on the 50 point inspection as they did not catch major repairs that should have been caught per their 50 point inspection list. I hope this helps someone that may be considering a used vehicle from this or any other dealership. Repairs that they did not catch: timing chain rattling (tensioner needs to be replaced), two major oil leaks in the engine, water pump leak, front struts leaking, all fluids dirty (brake, transmission, transfer cases, power steering), hand brake loose and does not hold, U-joint needs to be replaced on drive shaft. Some of these are important maintenance items for safety as well. If this review is still up, it means nothing has been done to fix this issue. More
