I was sold a plug-in hybrid 2017 Audi A3 e-tron Premium Plus at $18,595 (VIN: WAUTPBFF6HA037041) Would not negotiate the price, despite being listed over market value. Reasoning: AutoNation is like Carvana & CarMax; prices are decided by corporate. I overheard them lowering the price for an adamant older woman & this put my radar on to forthcoming deceit. First a $500 charge for window tint on my itemized breakdown for financing. Fred removed this after Joshua tried to make me believe it was a charge for a theft protection device (possibly an Apple AirTag my phone kept connecting to after I had the car & couldn’t find). Joshua was very deceptive about my loan options & would only show me one bank. They picked me up to sign & drive the car home on February 19th, 2023. The car was being detailed as Joshua was on his way. I was told all scratches would be buffed out, fully charged & refueled, & spotless. After down payment & signing, I was given the keys & ready to go (driver visor needed to be fixed at a later date, this was agreed & I had that in my paperwork). As I left, I noticed the hybrid battery was completely empty, fuel was only 3/4 full & the passenger visor wouldn’t close. I called Joshua. I had to work & could not go back. I noticed crumbs in the seats, an old pen, loose change, handprints on the windows. I was told the car was detailed, but I could come back & they would refuel. I didn’t have time, so I said I would come back today (February 20th, 2023) to fix the passenger visor & sort the detailing/fuel. Joshua said he wouldn’t be there, but Fred could help. Joshua was present, but he was focused on selling a $100k car he mentioned the day before. I had time to fully inspect the vehicle & technology to get my trial for Audi Connect started & use Apple CarPlay. Things falsely listed for this car. Before buying I checked with Joshua that the car did have Apple CarPlay. He said it absolutely did, but we didn’t have a cord to check. Another issue. The car was listed coming with two USB cables (lightning & micro-USB), it did not. So I asked about a cargo net listed. I was told not to worry, as the car would come with everything listed. The conversation was different after down payment & signing. I was told they don’t write listings & the car can’t come with cables because the previous owner kept them. Again told it would come with a cargo net. Alas, no cables or cargo net, the Audi MMI system was not updated so Apple CarPlay & Android Auto were not included, & a 6-month trial of Audi Connect PRIME & PLUS was also not included. It was all listed. Expensive upgrades at Audi. I noticed dents & scratches on the hood not present when I test drove. All the scratches were still there, even superficial ones that I asked to be buffed out during my test drive. The tint they tried to charge me for was peeling off the back windshield. Containing multiple dug-in scratches & warping from being applied incorrectly. In the hatch there are supposed to be two lights. One on each side. The right light amazingly lit the right side. The left side had no light. Where the light should be they’ve replaced the same shape & type of material to cover where the light would be to make it look factory. Be wary of AutoNation if this is how they do business. I asked to fix the problems & get the things listed & instead Fred told me they’d return the car to whom they bought it from, because it would cost too much to fix. Returned the car within the five days & 250 miles money-back guarantee. They would not drive me home & I had to order a $50 Uber. I have to wait a few days for my down payment refund to my credit card. I’ve seen other poor reviews about the length of time to return deposits. February 20th, 2023 More
