Beginning October 23, 2024 I tried for 10 days to purchase a vehicle from AutoNation Infinit Tustin, CA. The vehicle was listed on CarFax. The purchase was being made out of state and the vehicle wou purchase a vehicle from AutoNation Infinit Tustin, CA. The vehicle was listed on CarFax. The purchase was being made out of state and the vehicle would need to be shipped. I received a "pseudo" Purchase Agreement October 31, 2024, it was reviewed with Wendy (sales associate) and it was agreed several items would be removed/amended (smog fees, CA TIF, County Fee, etc.) When I received an updated Purchase Agreement dated November 1, 2024 from Edgar Jimenez, Sales Manager, the selling price increased from $45021 to $45119. The vehicle transportation fee increased $300 and the "Maverick" courier fees increased $100. I was also told it would take 3-4 weeks to receive the vehicle and I had to use their carrier after being told previously by my sales person I could use the carrier of my choice. In the updated Purchase Agreement I questioned Edgar why "Services" were being taxed at 6%, Edgar said he would adjust the Purchase Agreement and get the document back to me in a few minutes. Fast forward to the November 2, 2024, no updated Purchase Agreement. I reached out to several AutoNation dealerships to inquire about transportation. I was told AutoNation allows the buyer to choose their own carrier. I received a call from Wendy (sales), she said I needed to speak with Edgar. When I spoke with Edgar about the shipping. he stated the policy was unique to their dealership. I asked about the amended Purchase Agreement which was never sent, of course it fell on deaf ears. It did not make sense for me to purchase the vehicle and wait 3-4 weeks. Their transportation was open trailer >$1500, the carrier I found was a closed trailer $1600 and I would receive the car in 7-10 days. Needless to say I was extremely upset as we are trying to finalize the Purchase Agreement and things keep changing on their part, not cool at all. I told Edgar the deal was off. I called Wendy within 5 minutes after speaking with Edgar (he never ansers) to tell her I will move forward with the purchase. She instructed me to call Edgar. I called him within 23 minutes and sent several text messages to Edgar as usual he never once responded. I reached back out to Wendy and told her he wasn't responding, she told me to email him telling him I wanted to move forward with the deal, once again no response. Edgar Jimenez did not have the professionalism to return repeated calls, texts and emails throughout most of this process. However, Edgar Jimenez was very quick to respond once I sent the signed Purchase Agreement to my loan officer instructing her to move forward with the purchase. I honestly felt all along something wasn't right and there was another buyer in the background. November 1, 2024 @ 2:54 EST I sent a text message to Wendy "I thought I would have heard back from you by now. It's been 2 1/2 hours. It seems like there is another potential buyer and people are dragging their feet." I have phone records, texts and emails to back up everything I have stated. I have been in sales for over 25 years, never in my life have I ever encountered someone the likes of Edgar Jimenez. This is in no way a reflection on Wendy, she was very responsive and pleasant. In the few phone calls with Edgar, he seemed to be very annoyed by her. I am also filing a formal complaint with AutoNation Corporate. When they say buyer beware take notice of this place, especially the sales manager-Edgar. More
