I took my 2009 Honda Accord in for service because it was giving me trouble starting. As I had already replaced the battery, I strongly suspected the starter was the problem. My appointment was for 8:45am. giving me trouble starting. As I had already replaced the battery, I strongly suspected the starter was the problem. My appointment was for 8:45am. I asked the service adviser if they could simply replace the starter but no, he told me a diagnostic test had to be run to determine the problem. After discussing the test, I relented and figured that since I had an appointment, I'd have my answer within an hour. After all, how long would a diagnostic test take? I went to the waiting area. What a shabby area. The furniture was faux leather that was cracked, worn and didn't look appealing at all. At one point, I went to the ladies room only to find both stalls were plugged up and unusable. There was no "out of order" sign on the door/doors. I didn't get called by the service rep until almost 12:30pm, over 3 hours after arriving. And guess what? My starter needed replacing. I agreed to get the starter replaced, fix the blown taillight, and get my GPS code input. After a bit, the service rep informed me that there wasn't a starter available. The closest was on the east coast and would take 4 days to arrive. I didn't understand it was 4 business days, not simply 4 days. I asked for my car back, explaining that I'd return when the part was in stock. What a coincident that the car wouldn't start! I had to leave it. This dealership did not offer a rental car, a loaner car, or even a complimentary ride home. What kind of customer service is that? I rented a car for a week thinking in a week I'd have my car back. It was then I was told the part had not yet arrived because it was 4 business days and nobody works on the weekend. So here I am, not willing to rent a car for another couple of days and my own car sitting in your service lot. I would like it if your customers were able to say "please replace my starter" and it would happen; no upselling of a $220 diagnostic. If the car still doesn't start, I'll try then next thing. I'd like your employees to put up a sign on the front of the door to the ladies room if the toilets aren't working. One of your cashiers, a female, knew the problem and told me repairs were forthcoming. In fact, while I was waiting for a ride home, the plumber did arrive. I'd like the time for my appointment to be honored. Why did I have to wait over 3 hours to find out what I already knew? Don't tell me it takes 3 hours for a simple test. I'd like to see improvements on your "just in time" process for parts. I understand my car is old, but surely you could have a starter or two at a location on the west coast? I only came to the dealership because I'm a single woman who doesn't know a reliable mechanic. I didn't care if my car had authentic honda parts or honda trained mechanics. If my experience is typical of others experiences, you can be sure I'll not return to the dealership for any further service. More

Service Advisor Dao Nguyen provides outstanding service and support. The service technicians are well qualified. I purchased my 2014 Accord in late 2013 at AutoNation Honda Fremont and it has always been and support. The service technicians are well qualified. I purchased my 2014 Accord in late 2013 at AutoNation Honda Fremont and it has always been serviced here. My Accord continues to be in perfect mechanical condition. Thank you all. More
