We went in on a Saturday afternoon to look at a new Honda Odyssey. After looking around and talking with one of the sales people, we finally decided on the one we wanted to take home. We spent a fair bit of Odyssey. After looking around and talking with one of the sales people, we finally decided on the one we wanted to take home. We spent a fair bit of time working out the details & trade-in value of our old car. We got all of the numbers where we wanted them and were ready to sign. Up to this point, everything was working out quite well but we weren't able to get the actual payoff value on our trade-in. Because of this, I didn't want to sign as I wanted to wait until Monday when I could get the exact payoff. The dealership gave us all of the final numbers and even set us up with a borrowed vehicle agreement so we could drive home in the new van that day. At that point, I thought the deal was said & done & all we would have to do after I got the final payoff was to come in & sign. How things changed in 48 hours! When we got there to sign we learned that the deal was not done and that the dealership had never actually gotten approval on our financing. At no point on Saturday were we ever given any indication that we were not approved. As I said, they went as far as letting us drive away with the new van before we had even signed. Turns out that we were lied to and completely deceived about the offer we were given. Our sales person couldn’t even deliver the news, the sales manager had to came over to tell us that we were more than $10,000 (yes, ten thousand dollars) off! It's amazing how the same person who was doing just about anything to get us to stay & get the deal done on Saturday wanted so little to do with us when they couldn't work out the deal. We were quickly brushed off & seemingly rushed out the door so they could approach their next victim. For a dealership who has banners & awards up about honesty & integrity, we certainly didn't see anything that showed us how they earned them. The deal could have fallen through regardless of how the dealership acted but to find out that we were lied to and that they were so deceitful with how they treated us was an experience I will never forget. I would never recommend a friend, family member or even an enemy, for that matter, to use this dealership. What an awful experience! More
I leased a 2012 Honda Accord and had a good experience working with Gary Simpson. Having said that, I think it depends largely on the customer whether or not they have a good experience, even in reputabl working with Gary Simpson. For example, it's good if you are familiar with the car buying process. It also helps if you go into the dealership and are friendly and courteous. Don't be a jerk expecting to have an adversarial relationship with your salesperson because they are people too. Furthermore, educate yourself on the car buying process so when the finance guy comes over to explain the numbers you don't have the deer in the headlights look. I can say my experience with Gary and his manager was pleasant and the whole leasing process was relatively simple and without drama. In the end I got a "good" deal and hardly had to work for it, which I'm more than fine with. I would recommend this dealership unless you are somebody who will lose sleep because you think you should have gotten the car for $100 cheaper. More
The Express Service is anything but EXPRESS. After 2 hours of waiting, my car still had not been serviced and I was told it could be another 2 or more hours before it would be serviced. Their advertising says you don't need an appointment but if you don't have one you will be waiting all day for a simple oil change. It appears they give full attention to anyone that made an appointment with any "drop-ins" pushed back on the list until all vehilces with appointments are serviced first; no matter what time your vehicle was broght in. If they are going to advertise that you don't need an appointment, then they should have service techs for those with appointments and another for non-appointments. More
I went to San Tan Honda because my niece recommended them. I dread dealing with car salesmen. I dealt with Gary Simpson. He is easy breezy. It was the easiest car buying experience I have ever had. I went in thinking I would have to buy a used car and came out with a brand new Honda Accord. Gary and Victor, my finance person, were OUTSTANDING. I will recommend San Tan Honda always. For service, this dealership is excellent. Darien Humbert is outstanding the only reason I go back to this dealership. When I complained to management they laughed about it and told me all dealers screw their customers. What really pissed me off was they way that they were so proud of it! Ken Welsh, General Sales Manager, was no help either. My current Honda is my 5th, and the 2nd from SanTan. I will never again buy another car from these crooks! I will never buy another Honda product again. I am encouraging anyone where I have any influence to not buy from this dealership. You will get screwed! More
