Sent my 1997 Ford campervan for a checkup back in July. Due to Covid it hadn’t been on a road trip in two years but was driven around locally on a regular basis and always started and drove well. I asked Due to Covid it hadn’t been on a road trip in two years but was driven around locally on a regular basis and always started and drove well. I asked for complete checkup as we were planning on camping starting at the end of October. In August was told service was complete and the mechanic could also fix my generator, they just needed to order a new starter. After three months of waiting and calling, no more work was done, the mechanic and serviceman quit but the bill went up from $1200 to $1900. Bill was finally adjusted to take off the work that was not done. Took van home and a few days later on October 31st while waiting in,line to get gas the radiator blew. So much for our road trip! After almost another month in their service department they advise me I needed a new radiator and alternator costing another $2500. Kevin, the service manger, told me that 4 months is normal to service a vehicle and there was no way they could know that my radiator was blown and I needed a new alternator. My vehicle had been serviced by Auto Nation before and after every road trip we took to make sure we didn’t have issues like this. Mechanics always told me the vehicle was in excellent condition. Will never use Ford Auto Nation again. More
