I even remember the days when it was not uncommon for a salesman to throw a customer's personal car keys on the roof of the dealership to get you to buy their car. Fairly recently a car salesman told me that the only thing a customer likes better than good customer service was "a good deal." What I discovered at AutoNation Ford in St. Petersburg, Fl. in May of 2025 to my surprise was that you can have both. From the moment I called my salesman, Carlos Tapia to inquire about an Internet advertisement for an F-150 I was interested in until I drove off in my new F-150 he was 100% attentive to my wife and I. A test drive, lots of questions about the truck, then came the negotiating. Rather than tell me what kind of deal he could give me, Carlos listened to what I wanted to offer along with my trade, he ran some numbers and had me complete a credit check application. No arguing, then he made the obligatory trip to the Sales Manager for approval. This is when I knew we'd being making several trips back and forth with the Sales Manager, trying to change the math each time. To my surprise, Todd, the Sales Manager came to us personally and told me "We can work this out," (thank you Todd). I was surprised because I had shopped around, and gotten very low ball offers for my trade in and "we can lower your payment if you extend the time you finance" suggestions. Todd said he wanted us to be an AutoNation customer and was determined to make the deal work. The bottom line is, my wife and I had a great experience at AutoNation Ford in St. Pete. Along with Carlos and Todd, a shout out to Alex, the finance manager who walked us through ALL the paperwork and even Zach in Service who was kind enough to loan me his Apple phone charger so I could juice up my phone while we waited. This dealership is the lease responsive organization that I have ever dealt with. 1 - I bought a truck a month ago and I have no valid tags as the temp expired and they never sent the permanent ones. We h I have ever dealt with. 1 - I bought a truck a month ago and I have no valid tags as the temp expired and they never sent the permanent ones. We have called over 5 times, no one gets back to you. 2 - during the sales process, I repeated to the finance person that I did not want any extra coverage, period. He asked the questions at least 3 more times and then told us that we were not being smart about it. 3 - they went to over 4 banks to get a financing rate without telling us that they were making that many inquiries, even with a credit score over 800. The number of financing apps is a key credit score measurement. I took a hit on my close to perfect score. 4 - Ford put in place employee pricing the same week we bought the truck. I asked if we were eligible for a price adjustment. No response. More
Lincoln went above and beyond my expectations. When the warranty company came back with a much lower number than the estimate, he assured me that he would talk to the adjuster and get it covered. When the warranty company came back with a much lower number than the estimate, he assured me that he would talk to the adjuster and get it covered. He did exactly that and I am extremely grateful. He was also very polite and answered the million questions I had. More
I was driving my 2103 Ford F250 Diesel and smelled something burning. I pulled over and saw a lot of engine oil leaking out underneath. I towed my truck AutoNation Ford St Petersburg. The service advi something burning. I pulled over and saw a lot of engine oil leaking out underneath. I towed my truck AutoNation Ford St Petersburg. The service advisor, Micky was very nice, upfront and honest, she said it may take a couple days for them to see what the problem was. Within a couple days, the dealership made a thorough and accurate diagnosis and provided a repair plan and cost. They also were able to help me with my breakdown repair warranty coverage. .While the truck was in for repair, Micky put me in a brand new 2025 F150 courtesy truck. Mostly due to backorder parts, the repair took a little bit longer than expected. When the repairs were complete I picked up the vehicle and the price I paid was exactly what was quoted. The vehicle is back on the road and leak free. Micky and the whole team at AutoNation Ford does a great job. They are courteous and friendly. Thank you! More
