I brought my C Max in for them to check the codes. They charged me $171 for the inspection, which was to check the codes and determine the cause. I had the codes checked several weeks ago at a small independent repair shop, but they suggested I take my car into a dealership, as the codes said that it involved the hybrid battery. Which I had explained to the service rep upon arrival. They could not find any codes, but informed me that I had an engine leak, suggested that I get new spark plugs and drain the radiator. Also to get new air filters for the motor and the interior, which altogether was over $2K. I said that the engine oil leak was from a faulty oil filled motor mount, which was replaced a few months ago. And that I also had new plugs and cooling system drained and refilled….as well as the air filters. Still no information on the codes….which is really what I wanted. They still charged me the $171….for what. They did nothing to test the hybrid battery. More
Though they are busy - as all repair replaces are right now - they took the time to really find out what was going on with my truck and got it fixed. This was the worst service experience I have ever had with any vehicle I have owned. My 4 month old 2021 F-150 was in the shop for 37 days for a relatively minor warranty repair. After being told for over three weeks that they were waiting on a gasket needed for the repair and there was nothing they could do. I contacted Sanderson Ford the dealership I purchased the truck from asking if they could help. The Sanderson parts department went above and beyond to locate the gasket in a larger gasket kit. Sanderson had the part in hand the next day. Sanderson got the regional Ford rep involved and the part was then sold to AutoNation and Ford picked up the additional cost for the kit. The communication from AutoNation was non existent. It was impossible to call them and get a human to answer. I would leave voicemails and if my calls were returned it would be days later. If I were the general manager of this AutoNation I would be embarrassed that a competitor solved a customers issue within hours that my "team" had been working on for weeks. More
