The dealership was clean and professional as you might expect from a new car dealership. The employees were polite and professional as you might expect from a new car dealership. Unfortunately, the other expect from a new car dealership. The employees were polite and professional as you might expect from a new car dealership. Unfortunately, the other thing that you might expect from a new car dealership; “that you might get gouged for repairs,” also held true. I took my car in for an air bag recall which is a no charge repair, and it was, but my spare key had quit working, so I thought I would have them reprogram it as long as I was there. I was advised that it would cost $89.99, a bit high, but I agreed. Later they called me to advise that the chip in the key was bad and that it would cost an additional $60.00 for a new key plus the programming. I declined at that point because I knew I could have it done by a local locksmith for half the price. They proceeded to tell me that I still owed them $89.99 for the reprogramming, even though it did not work. I simply responded; “that sounds like a rip off.” They explained that even though it did not work, the technician still needs to be paid for their time. I whole heartedly agree that the technician deserves to be paid, but $89.99 for 5 or 10 minutes that it takes to realize the key chip is bad is in fact gouging. Since I was stuck between a rock and a hard place, I agreed to the new key and reprogramming for a sub total of $149.88. To add insult to injury, they added $18.00 for “Miscellaneous Charges” AKA, Shop Supply Costs. Seriously, what “Shop Supplies” are needed to reprogram a key. I realize that all repair shops charge a “Shop Supply Fee” on every invoice, but in certain circumstances you might want to waive that fee as a courtesy, especially when you are already gouging the customer. I am mostly angry with myself, because I know better than to have a new car dealership do any repairs to my car, or my car key, lesson learned. I do not know if anyone at this dealership will read this, but if they do, I would be curious to see if they try to make it right. More

Ended up keeping the vehicle for could take anywhere from a day to 6 months without recommending that I take the vehicle home until the part arrives. Ended up keeping the vehicle for about a week...Service staff was otherwise very courteous and helpful (Steven). I am currently waiting to be notified when the part arrives in order to schedule returning my car for the repair. More
