My overall experience with Gulf Freeway AutoNation has been good. I purchased my vehicle there and have had some minor recall work done also. My last experience with their service department was not so go been good. I purchased my vehicle there and have had some minor recall work done also. My last experience with their service department was not so good. I received three notifications via USPS that a recall notice had been issued for my vehicle. After each notice, I called the phone number on the notification once or twice and left phone messages requesting a call back with information on the nature of the recall(s). I finally learned what the recalls involved and scheduled an appointment for a quick visual inspection of three minor recall items to see if repairs would be needed during a future appointment. Actual inspection time was probably no more than 15 minutes. I was given an estimate of less than 1 hour when checking in at my scheduled appointment time. Four hours after my appointment time, my vehicle was returned to me. I was not kept up to date on the status of my vehicle as promised by the service rep; not even in response to a request for an update after 3 hours in the waiting room. In response to a query about why the inspection took so long, I was informed that the reservation only applied to the service desk and not to the shop; first come first served. What is the point of scheduling an appointment if it’s first come first served? If I knew before hand that it would take 4 hours to perform a quick visual inspection, I would have planned accordingly. The combination of unreturned phone calls and failure to provide an accurate time estimate or timely status updates makes me wonder what has changed in the service department to cause such a lower degree of satisfaction versus my previous experiences with the service department. They had my Ford edge for two weeks and still did not take care of the issue that we took it in for which was a brake booster which was covered under warranty instead they wanted to fix something else an take care of the issue that we took it in for which was a brake booster which was covered under warranty instead they wanted to fix something else and charge us for checking it when that is not what we took it in for and the only way they communicated with us was via text message, and it was always after hours so we couldn’t respond back and get an answer. We finally decided to have them stop any future work and just give me back my car. Not happy at all this time 🙁 More

When is an appointment not an appointment? Apparently at AutoNation. Last week had an 11 appointment to Recertify recall work that AutoNation did on our Ford two years ago. I asked if there was an issue and AutoNation. Last week had an 11 appointment to Recertify recall work that AutoNation did on our Ford two years ago. I asked if there was an issue and was told it's a formally in case I sell or trade in the vehicle. My teen drives this car so I set up an 11 am, only to find out that's only the drop-off time and this inspection will take up to 4 hours. Oh, the shuttle will take me home/work but stops running after 2pm for some reason. I leave. Two calls the next week and I'm assured that it won't be the same and if it is I'll get a loaner. 11am, drop off, looks the same, told it'll be less than 2 hours, I wait (wrong move, should've asked for loaner right then), at hour 3, I ask for loaner, told that my car will be ready in 20 min, I ask for loaner, told I need a credit card for incidentals, and my insurance card (which is in my vehicle) and asked, you don't have a copy in your wallet? e-sign contract for loaner and just like that my car is ready. Can I give negative stars? Very few people wearing mask, mostly customers. More
