I came in to Dodge around 8:00pm looking for a truck; it was my last stop for the night before making a decision. When I asked to test drive the new 2011 Ram truck, I was told they would need to get some in was my last stop for the night before making a decision. When I asked to test drive the new 2011 Ram truck, I was told they would need to get some information from me, I figured it was a copy of my licensee, etc in order to drive the vehicle. Next thing I know, I am answering questions about what I can afford, what kind of payment, etc etc. They also made it a point to mention that "At Brandon Dodge, we don’t bring any surprises to the table, so your vehicle registration for the first year, taxes and all fees are included in the price", come to find out, after I purchased my new vehicle, they did not register it, so I had to pay an additional 800 out of pocket. But back to the story.. I finally got to drive one and I liked the vehicle. They were pumped to try to pressure me into it. I told them I wanted the same vehicle but in a different color (The one I was testing was white; I wanted anything but white or black). Once I asked that, they gave me an attitude as if I was inconveniencing them to go into their computer system and help me find the vehicle I want. Anyhow, they found it and then I signed for the vehicle and started the paper work process. When they brought the truck to me the gas was Empty, Frank had said because it was so late (10:00pm by now), their fueling guy was not there anymore and the machines were locked down. He told me that when I came back in next week to get my addons that I bought, I could just bring it in Empty and he would fill it up. The next week, I brought the truck back to get add ons. When I arrived, Frank asked me how I was enjoying my vehicle. I explained to him that I was disappointed, I didn’t realize some of the small insignificant features the vehicle was missing and I wish I would have at the time of purchase. He took it offensively, like I was trying to get free add ons from him or something.. He automatically took an attitude with me. I got defensive and I told him that I just spent 40,000.00 on a truck from this establishment and I should be treated like a customer not a burden. While I was sitting in his office signing paper work for the "temp car" they were going to let me use while mine was in the shop getting the add ons that I PAID for, I mentioned that the vehicle was empty like he requested so he could fill it up. He played dumb at first and couldn’t remember saying anything about filling it up. After I explained to him that when bought the vehicle, the pumps were off so I couldn’t get fuel, he started to vaguely remember.. He then says "No problem, I can throw 20 bucks into it for you".. I said "You committed to filling the tank up", which he denied. I got mad and said I wanted to see the manager. He left the room for a few moments, then came back and said he will make sure it was filled up. I paid for 4 add ons to my vehicle, a WIFI Uconnect Blue Tooth, Back Seat Modification, Tow Hitch Package w/ Wiring and Rhino Bed Lining Spray. Once I arrived I had questions about my add ons to the service reps. First the WIFI Uconnect Blue Tooth. I asked the rep how the WIFI portion worked and what kind of literature came with it so I can read up on it. The rep explained that it really isn’t WIFI at all, and in fact he couldn’t understand why they even have WIFI in the description, it is just a plain blue tooth. So now I just bought a 500 dollar blue tooth that, by the way, doesn’t work worth a shit. 90% of the people say I sound like I am across a room and that I constantly break up. I then asked the service tech a question about the Rhino Bed Lining Spray, he didn’t know the answer, but explained that a rep from the company that would do the spray would be picking my vehicle up in a few moments and could answer anything I needed. So I waited. There were two priced packages for the rhino spray. One package included the bed and sides, the other just included the bed. I requested the higher priced of the two options because I wanted my sides protected too. I noticed after the fact that my sides already came protected with a hardened plastic that dodge puts on tucks standard. So when I told the Rhino spray rep that I needed to modify this to adjust the price, he explained it was all the same price, the side lip they protect doesn’t cost any more or less to get it or not get it. So, now I felt ripped off. Here Dodge is, charging two different prices for a service that costs them the same either way, making profit off both. Anyways, I left in a small old sea bring that was just terrible, but that didn’t bother me really. I mean come on; I only dropped 40K on a vehicle, why should they treat me well. I have the loaner vehicle for the day. They call me towards the end of the day to tell me that the parts did not show up and they were going to have to keep my truck longer, I of course was a little upset, to which the manager replied, "it is what it is". Moving along about 35 days later, I go to pick up my plates and tags. I am then prompted with a 800 dollar bill to register my vehicle.. Even though I was told that at Brandon Dodge, we don’t like surprises... Bottom line, I spent 40,000 dollars to buy this truck and from step one I was treated like shit. I think Dodge is a great company, but this dealership cost them my business for every future buy I ever do from here on out. I have bought lunch at McDonalds for 7.50 and have received 10x better customer service. More
I have been buying trucks from Hal since 1996. The reason I went to Brandon was because they had the good sense to employ Hal. This is my 9th truck/car from Hal . After getting to the dealership I could see I went to Brandon was because they had the good sense to employ Hal. This is my 9th truck/car from Hal . After getting to the dealership I could see why Hal would work there. The Staff was friendly and non pressuring, which is very important to me. They also didn't give me the feeling that they wanted to squeeze the last penny from the deal. Hal was a no brainer , always great service. The rest of the staff was a very pleasent surprise . They were professional and accomidating. Over all another great deal form Hal Turley. 9/9 More
The new ownership certainly has proved to me that a dealer can be different. Better! I've bought many cars and this purchase ranks in the top three for sure. When you feel what your being told is real and honest, that makes the difference. It did for me. I can't remeber the sales person, but everyone was great. Check them out. I know that I'll be back. I went into this dealership the last week of November 2010 and worked with "Frank" (the sales rep) who sold me a 2011 Ram 2500 6.7L Diesel Truck, Laramie edition with a 2007 Cadillac Escalade as trade-in 2010 and worked with "Frank" (the sales rep) who sold me a 2011 Ram 2500 6.7L Diesel Truck, Laramie edition with a 2007 Cadillac Escalade as trade-in. I was then transferred to their financial department to work with "Nick" to finalize the deal. Due to a pending closing on a home I purchased I did not want to run a credit check until that was complete but received a "Good Faith Estimate" based on a credit score of 643 which I had known from the home buying process I was going through. The "Good Faith Estimate" returned a rate of 8.49% with 0 down over a term of 78 months. I brought in 2 pay stubs and a letter to verify my income and employment and authorized a credit check which came back at 650 - slightly higher than expected. I was then referred to "Tony" (also in finance) who put together a Buyers Order (with a Retail Installment). The tax rate was then increased to 10.99% and I was asked to put down 5k. I informed them that money down was not a possibility at all and that I had disclosed that up-front on day 1. He informed me that it was "out of their hands" and up to the bank but that they would be losing money and he wanted to make it work for the both of us. I replied that the best thing for me was to stay with the original Buyers Order. Tony responded that if necessary the dealership would have to take the loss. He asked me to come in a few days later so they could try and negotiate with the lender at a banquet - he said he received authorization to reduce the down-payment to $1.5k and would attempt to have that waived as well. I received a phone call the following day that the negotiation with the lender "went well" and was asked to come in the following Friday (I had been driving the new truck for an entire week at this point). I came in Friday and was referred to a new sales person, "Ron". Ron again asked me for $5k which I re-iterated was not a possibility and we'd already been through this numerous times now. He then inquired if I could barrow money from family, friends, take out other loans, etc. or pay it back over a period of time. When I declined these options Ron stated that the only option was to put me in a smaller or older vehicle. He presented a 2010 Ram 2500 that he said had all of the same options minus the "touch-screen" media deck. I agreed to that so long as it had all of the other options (despite that it was the same price but with no down-payment). I went to test drive the truck to find that it did not have ANY of the options presented and once again declined. I then stated that I cannot do this any more - I had been in the dealership for over 20 hours in 2 weeks, negotiated with 2 separate sales representatives and 2 separate finance representatives, lied to repeatedly with terms changing each time I came in. I stated I'd rather have my car back than drive a different vehicle than what we agreed upon. They then informed me I would have to pay over $1k to get my car back due to the mileage I put on the new vehicle. I disputed this because I was told by Tony when I drove it home that there was no chance that I would have to return that vehicle and the dealership would have to pay the difference if something changed. In the end I did not pay this and drove my old car home. During that time I was assessed late fees for not paying my car payment this month because the dealership had already agreed to buy it and signed a Power of Attorney for the old vehicle. In addition I now have multiple entries on my credit report from them shopping for lenders. I still have a signed buyers contract (with Retail Installment) and they stated the bank approved but fell back on their offer when realizing they couldn't get a $5k down payment. From the changing terms, asking me to inquire to family/friends to barrow money, and flat out lying about not bringing the car back, and options on an alternate vehicle, this was the worst car buying experience I've ever had. Frank and Nick were friendly and great to work with. Ron was very dishonest and pressuring - he says he's straight-forward and up-front but lies to you about the terms. Tony was very friendly but flat out lied about financial details and what the dealership was willing to do to work with you. The dealership will make a lot of promises they cannot backup and DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT YOUR BUYERS ORDER. IF YOU HAVE A RETAIL INSTALLMENT INCLUDED THEN DO NOT TAKE THE TRUCK OFF THE LOT - THE SALE IS NOT FINAL NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU. More
