Mike Paulsen is quite possibly the best car salesman in Washington State. My relationship with Dodge of Bellevue has been rocky with one very good transaction and one very unpleasant. I keep coming back because of their service department, in particular Chris Ryder. I met Mike while awaiting service on my 2002 Durango. I was drooling over a beautiful Ram on the showroom floor and had a few questions. I told him the Ram would have to wait, but my wife was hoping for a van to replace the aging Durango. Our budget was tight and we would have to hit a very specific mark. Before I knew it, we were taking a test drive in a brand new Grand Caravan to show my wife. The biggest surprise was not that my wife loved the van, but that she actually enjoyed talking to Mike. He answered her questions without pushing, showed the vehicle as if it were his own, not something for sale. Unfortunately, the van was above our price range and nothing else piqued our interest at the time. Mike asked that we keep in touch and he would help when we were ready to look again. Six months passed and we found a used van on Auto Trader that happened to be at Dodge of Bellevue. I called Mike and again he was quick to help, arranged the test drive and answered all of the questions. The Sales Managers were again unwilling to meet our budget and we were unable to reach an agreement. Mike never once showed frustration or irritation at the situation. He was friendly and even apologetic. The third time was finally the charm. But this time I dealt with Mike via email. I chose a van I had found online, and Mike knowing our situation said he would try, but also recommended an alternative. He had received a used, very low mileage van in amazing condition and asked if we were interested. When we agreed to his inquiry, his next email not only contained the info, but he had pre-negotiated the deal with this managers to very close to the exact numbers we had requested. A test drive and a few signatures later, we had the vehicle we wanted that fit well within our budget. The best part of Mike is that he cares about future opinion. He shared his business strategy of pleasing each and every customer to keep them coming back for future generations of vehicles. We will definitely use him for each and every vehicle transaction. Brought my 04 Durango in for service and wanted to 'kick the tires' of the new Durango. Mike was unbelievably helpful, friendly, and no pressure. Because of this openness we were able to agree on a fair price for both my trade and the new durango and I was able to get great financing. All of the staff was nice and friendly. I hate being accosted walking on to a dealers lot and asked immediately "when are you looking to buy?". There was none of that with the sales team. And, Erik Annell in Service is top-notch. He's been my service manager for a over a year, and it was because of him that I looked at the new Durango. Thanks everyone! Love my upgraded ride! More
