Trying to find an auto service place you can trust is never easy and trying to find one to service a 2009 Chevy HHR wasn't either. I tried the small business owner route first and was told to not worry about the check engine light being on; the car is fine to drive. Well "fine to drive" is not good enough! I am the mom in Michigan trying to assist my daughter with all this and I I wanted it fixed and safe and thankfully AutoNation Chevrolet agreed with me. Damaras from customer service scheduling was professional and courteous, she went that extra mile to help me get my daughters car scheduled for service promptly. my daughter had to do an after hours service drop; it was was so convenient. I talked with Rolly M.(?), (who I believe was a service director/manager), the following morning to confirm it was there and on the schedule. He was patient and professional, answering all my questions. I discussed how important it was for this car to be safe for my daughter to drive. He responded "we will not let your daughter drive away in a car that is not fixed" I was so thankful! I was assigned Andrew Lyland as my contact. Andrew was outstanding. He kept me informed at all times and worked with me to insure it was ready at a time that was convenient for my daughter to pick up. They even washed it! My daughter still talks about how shiny it is! My daughter works for Disney and has shared this experience with a lot of the young professional women she works with. AutoNation Chevrolet Service is a place you can trust. She has also said she will go there first when she is ready for a new car! Well done! More
I've been coming in for a few years now and the service has definitely improved over the years. There wasn't much urgency to assist when I arrived until a manager walked by and one of the service techs the has definitely improved over the years. There wasn't much urgency to assist when I arrived until a manager walked by and one of the service techs then asked to assist when I was clearly the only one in the lobby. Other than that overall good experience. More
Took my vehicle in because one of the windows would not roll up. The repair took 2 and a half weeks: 5 day wait just to look at my car (not leaving it meant chancing the vehicle getting rained in as my gar roll up. The repair took 2 and a half weeks: 5 day wait just to look at my car (not leaving it meant chancing the vehicle getting rained in as my garage is currently unavailable due to home renovations); + another full week to get the part from Michigan; + another 4 days because the technician and service advisor and parts department couldn't be bothered to talk to one another; + 1 day to actually do the repair. I had to track down the service advisor several times to ask about the status of my vehicle -- he never contacted me with updates until the day the car was ready. When he gave me the cost estimate over the phone, he neglected to mention the $60 or so in additional "fees". In every previous experience with this shop, the price I was quoted was accurate, so I had no reason to expect the total to be higher than what I was quoted. When I picked up the car this time, I asked for an explanation. "Well everybody has to pay shop fees and taxes" is what I was told. I said if you are calling me to tell me the cost of the repair, you need figure this all out ahead of time and give me that number so I know what to expect. I also said "shop fees" are not the same thing as taxes. It's fair to assume that people expect to pay sales tax on goods and services they purchase. But "shop fees" are not a tax or regulatory fee that gets passed through to the State -- it's a markup, plain and simple. You could call them "CEO Yacht Acquisition Fees" and it would likely be more accurate because nobody would confuse it with a charge that is imposed by law and passed through to the city, state, etc. "But you didn't ask for an 'out the door' price" was effectively the service guy's only response. At that point, I decided I will never do business with AutoNation ever again. Anywhere. Any brand. Service, sales, parts. Never again. More
