Took our Chevy Malibu in for check engine light and the car is under warranty and we bought it at AutoNation. Our service was managed by Keldric. Do not recommend Keldric at all! He does not return calls, only communicates via text one day a week with very little information. We were told it would be 5 to 7 business days to complete a diagnostic verification check of a transmission general code. Plus once it was confirmed then the wait time would be 8-10 weeks. After 2 1/2 weeks, the only communication we received was a text saying we were still in line for diagnostic. We thought that meant the original 5-10 business days, after multiple attempts to contact Keldric, he texted that we had been in the 8-10 week line for a while now and he acted like it was our fault for not knowing this. His communication style is very unprofessional. No one should have to guess at the status of their vehicle and communication should be open and direct. We decided to call other dealerships because the car was under warranty and we found another dealership with a one week wait. I picked up the car from Keldrick who avoided eye contact and didn't say anything to me, except to ask if I was driving it or towing it. I drove the car there. The new dealership found that the check engine codes (the general code and subcodes) were erased from the car. Luckily we had the original printout from AutoZone (which we had also given to Keldric and he did not look at). The new dealership service manager saw on the printout a statement about low battery voltage. He called his transmission guy in the back and after a quick chat, determined that we needed to first look at the battery because it can have low voltage and show a general transmission code. After charging the battery for 45 minutes, the battery failed. Replaced the battery and no other issues were found. The vehicle was in this dealerships service shop for a total of 3 hours, including the check in and check out time!! 3 hours compared to 8-10 weeks, because the service manager actually talked to his transmission team and located the problem without the transmission team having to look at it. We will be taking our vehicle to this dealership in the future - they were helpful and actually cared about the customer!! More
