Took 2018 Impala to have transmission inspected due to shifting and revving issues. Result of inspection was that transmission needed to be replaced at a cost of over $8,000. Received second opinio shifting and revving issues. Result of inspection was that transmission needed to be replaced at a cost of over $8,000. Received second opinion from private mechanic who discovered transmission is fine. The issue was a bad torque converter, a much less costly, yet still important repair- in the neighborhood of $500-$700. This was never brought up in inspection performed by the folks at Autonation Chevy. The result is, I saved over $7k by having a second opinion when I thought taking to the dealer for a significant mechanical problem would be the best option. More
