On June 3rd, 2023, I came into this store with a dead key fob. I have had this happen in the past, and have been to the Laurel Acura store where they have replaced the battery without issue. When I expla fob. I have had this happen in the past, and have been to the Laurel Acura store where they have replaced the battery without issue. When I explained the issue to the associates at Acura Hunt Valley, they were pretty adamant that I needed a whole new key fob, and that simply replacing the battery wouldn't work. I asked if they would at least try putting in a new battery and they eventually agreed, which solved the issue. They encouraged me to have a spare key fob, which I agreed was a good idea, so I purchased a fob for $470.87. They said I would need to pay another $250 dollars for them to program the fob, which I was fine with. After agreeing to buy a new fob, they let me know the fob I needed was on backorder and there was no timeline for when it would be in stock. They said they would call me once they got it in, so I provided my cell phone number for that specific purpose. Throughout the purchase process for the new battery and the purchase of the new fob that was not in stock, I provided various pieces of information, including my cell phone number (necessary for them to call me once they got the fob in stock), my address, my name, and my VIN number. All of this information was taken down by a gentleman on scraps of yellow sticky notes. Between June 3rd, 2023 and September 5th, 2023, I called the parts/service department a handful of times, inquiring about an update to the out of stock key fob that I had already paid for. Every time I spoke with someone, I was told there was no update and they had no idea when it would be in stock and they would call me if/when they got it. Eventually, on September 5th, 2023 I was tired of waiting for this fob and tired of the attitude I was receiving when I called to ask for an update, so I called yet again and asked to be refunded, since this fob was clearly not being delivered anytime soon. What happened when I asked for a refund was really upsetting. I felt like I was dealing with an extremely hostile, toxic duo of employees. I provided them with my VIN number, cell phone number, transaction date and transaction amount, and they said they had "30-40" other people who ordered fobs and it was too much work to have to sort through all of those transactions to find mine. They said if I was so concerned, I could tell my credit card company and it would "come out in the wash". When I asked for the name of the employee who I was speaking with, things took an even worse turn. I could hear the employee I was speaking with audibly complain to his coworker, saying "I can't believe this **** (expletive), she wants my name now". I was then passed off to Mike, who reiterated that he was unwilling to help me. I asked if I could at least give him my VIN number, as I knew that was taken down by a team member when I was there. He sarcastically said "Ya I will get this down and give you a call right back". I gave him my VIN number and he was unable to repeat it back to me so I knew he did not bother to write it down correctly. I asked him to look up the transaction with that VIN number and give me a call back, and he did give me a call back about 60 seconds later. Mike left me a voicemail where he said he "not have any RDX key fobs on order for anyone or prepaid by anyone... I don't believe that you ordered the part for our store, I think you need to check your records and find out who you actually ordered it from". I tried to reach out to the business a few times to provide the receipt/credit card transaction showing that they had charged me, but they were unresponsive. More
