Classic Bate and Switch on Trade in Value I went to the Autofair VW web site to seek out the trade value for my car, a low mileage 2018 Golf R. I got back estimates ranging from $33k (clean) I went to the Autofair VW web site to seek out the trade value for my car, a low mileage 2018 Golf R. I got back estimates ranging from $33k (clean) to $34.3k (outstanding). My car objectively falls within the description of those two ranges. To be sure that this wasn’t a gimmick, I emailed the dealership to ensure this offer was legit before I drove 60 miles to Autofair. I exchanged emails with Camie Johnson who assured me the estimates provide in the email “will stand”, and that I should see the used car manager Jean Turgeon at 10 am the next day. I showed up at 10 and found Mr. Turgeon to be quite abrupt and ill prepared. He had no knowledge of my email, and said over and over that he just got in. I’m not exactly sure why he wasn’t prepared as I had scheduled the appointment, but he nevertheless took a few minutes to look at the car, looked at his computer, and told me my trade was worth $31,000 – between $2k and $3.3k less than the offer I received on the internet. His explanation was that the numbers in the email were dealer retail. This is wrong for two reasons. First, the Edmunds estimate I received from the dealership clearly states that it’s the TRADE value of the car, not private party or dealer retail. Secondly, Ms. Johnson emails from the previous evening confirmed that those were the range of trade values I can expect. I wasted an entire morning because I fell for the shameful bate and switch perpetrated by this dealership. Bottom line - DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU RECEIVE ONLINE FROM THESE HOOLIGANS. More

No Hassles and Go Above and Beyond I bought my used GMC Acadia from this dealership and had some accessory issues with the vehicle after the purchase and the Service Advisor Dylan Galla I bought my used GMC Acadia from this dealership and had some accessory issues with the vehicle after the purchase and the Service Advisor Dylan Gallagher was very empathetic to my issues.Dylan went above and beyond to get all the issues fixed in a timely manner and also got the Sales Department to agree to pay for one of the broken parts (Thank You Derek) and the rest of the issue respairs was fee of charge. Dylan was very accommodating and spoke to me in a detailed manner letting me know everything that was going on with the repairs and kept me informed periodically while the repairs were being done. This speaks wonders to Dylan's character and work ethic and someone I feel is trustworthy which is hard to find when dealing with Dealerships and Service Departments. I will definitely be coming back to get my car serviced at AutoFair Volkswagon and dealing with Dylan Gallagher every time. David DiDuca More

We had done our research prior to visiting them and had a clear understanding of what we wanted and where we wanted to come in from price perspective. After test driving the vehicle, the entire transaction was done within 10 minutes. It was a win - win situation. Management & Finance Team was outstanding. Bait and switch Stay away. I drove from Maine for a specific color combo that I was assured was “set aside for me”. I was also assured they were the biggest Sportw Stay away. I was also assured they were the biggest Sportwagen seller in New England and they had multiple alltracks and Sportwagen S w manuals. They had 1, and the one the “set aside” for me wasn’t the right color combo. I was told by another salesman that they weren’t allowed to do that. Then I asked about pricing for the model they did have. The pricing in their car was fair, but they tried to offer me $2k less than other dealers had offered and insisted that the market didn’t support that trade in. Then I looked at their used lot which had cars comparable to mine with more miles and not as good condition. They were overcharging for these cars by thousands. They also tried to get me to sign that I would buy a car without finalizing the deal (financing, etc). They also bragged abt paying $5.2 mil on the facility. No wonder, they have to pay for all this overhead. Wasted my time completely and was insulted in process. More
