If there were an option for 0 stars, I would definitely choose that for Auto Union. I bought my 16-year-old daughter her first car from them on August 10, 2024, traveling over an hour for the purchase. On August 13, 2024, the left the recipient stranded due to a P090C error code. I contacted Auto Union, and they seemed unsure about the Check Engine Light but promised to help. I had her car towed to a nearby shop for a code check. They informed me it was still under the Ford warranty due to a nationwide recall, so I had it towed to my local Ford dealership. Their certified inspection revealed over $6,000 in needed repairs. When I called Auto Union, they suggested I use the warranty I purchased from them. However, that warranty only covers up to $2,000, and the error code wasn’t included. After more than 40 days of NOT having my car, and only after I called for updates—since they never reached out to me—I was informed that it was fixed and running perfectly. When I requested receipts for the repairs, I was told they were waiting for them because they had used my warranty to cover some costs, which I never authorized. Less than 24 hours later, while driving with my daughter, the car wouldn't shift, and the check engine light came on. Days went by without any updates from Auto Union, so I called them again. The manager eventually returned my call, stating he didn't understand why this was happening but that they had spent over $2,000 on repairs. I pointed out that they should have, considering they sold me a defective car, which has been incredibly frustrating. I reminded him that their calls are monitored and recorded, so they could verify their guarantee of the repairs. When I asked for the repair receipts I got told they would be emailed to me. This dealership is the most deceitful I have encountered, pretending to care for their customers while they do not. More
I absolutely loved working with Jim. However, their car prices were about 20% over NADA and KBB. My bank was unable to finance unless I was going to put down the difference.
