There is a saying that some good always comes out of a bad experience. Over the years of owning various personal cars, I have had the liberty to deal with many dealerships. Some experiences have been grea bad experience. Over the years of owning various personal cars, I have had the liberty to deal with many dealerships. Some experiences have been great and some not as much. But the treatment I received at Cowles Nissan of Woodbridge, VA has by far got to be the nastiest experience I have ever gone through with a dealership. After spending weeks looking for a 2012 Altima Coupe with white exterior, black interior and a convenience package we found one for a price we liked at Cowles Nissan. I spoke a couple of times with Sopele Togba in Sales, to discuss the vehicle options, pricing and lease quotes. I told Sopele that I want the vehicle for a specific monthly payment and he spoke with his manager, Ghani Niazi, and they agreed to it. They even took my wife’s credit information to work the lease figures. I clarified multiple times with both of them whether they agree on the price and told them I want it in writing. I have an email from Ghani stating all the details of the lease for the specific vehicle and stock number that I was interested in. After I received written confirmation we left for the dealership. Sopele was aware that we had to drive over 50miles to get to Cowles. After driving for 40 miles, I got a call from Sopele stating that his finance manager had made a mistake when entering the vehicle description in his computer system and that he mistook the vehicle to be a sedan. So they supposedly could not do $265/month and would give me the coupe for $320/month, which is a significant increase by all standards. You can imagine I was very upset after driving over an hour to this news. Sopele transferred me to his Finance Dept, and the person I was speaking to was rude and even had the audacity to hang up on me. Despite this we decided to continue to the dealership in hopes that we could get a monthly payment that both parties would compromise to. When we finally arrived to Cowles, we were introduced to Kyuri Jo, the Finance Manager, who was very condescending. He kept saying that my wife has never owned a car and NMAC would not lease one to her. So even before I had the idea of cosigning for her, Kyuri stated he would not sell the vehicle for less than $320/month. We really wanted the specific car and offered to compromise from the original $265/month and that’s when Kyuri bluntly told us that he does not want our business. Within 10 minutes a few other employees came around and started mocking us and making a joke of the whole situation and didn’t care that we wasted our time hoping to do business with them. At that point we left the dealership very upset with what took place. Now back to my quote at the beginning of this review. The very next day we purchased another Altima Coupe from Nissan of Chantilly for 0% - 60 months!! They did not even hesitate one bit to qualify my wife for the loan. I didn’t even have to cosign! The experience I had with Chantilly was leaps and bounds better than the heckling I received at Cowles Nissan. Nissan of North America should remove its name from Cowles, who are dragging the Nissan brand and reputation through mud. More
My most recent visit at Cowles was a pleasure, as usual! I had to go in for a routine service and was in and out very quickly! Love the new Express Lane, so fast!! They did find a few minor things and Kirst I had to go in for a routine service and was in and out very quickly! Love the new Express Lane, so fast!! I would absolutely recommend Cowles to anyone for Sales or Service, I usually deal with Kirsten but have also delt with Susie and Sean, they are always ready to help out in any way! More
I very much enjoyed working with Darryl and his manager, Scott. When I first started looking for a car, I shopped around on the internet. The staff there took care of me and answered all of my questions with a smile on their face. I am very happy with the vehicle that I purchased, the dealership experience and everything in between. This is by far the work dealership I have ever had to deal with, more specifically the service department. Numerous incidents over the course of 7 years has caused me to finally write a review. On 5 or 6 seperate occassions I've had HORRIBLE customer service each and every time. From friendliness to quality of work the all around experience has made me not want to purchase a Nissan ever again. I understand each dealership is different but this has left such a bad taste in my mouth just thinking the Nissan name makes me cringe. Extremely overpriced, very poor quality work (had to take my car back two or three time for the exact same issue), and unwillingness to admit mistakes. Again, I'm not a one time burned customer this has happened so many times over the years I found it necessary to take time out of my busy schedule to put the word out. Go somewhere else! If you must go to Nissan go to a different dealership!!!!!!! Trust me you will thank me. More
I was sold a 2011 Sentra with 40 Miles on it. The very next day I was in service department. There was a knocking noise every time I stop or go. The dealer kept the car for a week and gave me loaner. The loaner had the same issue but not as loud as mine. I was told there is a problem with SUBFRAME & SUSPENSION. They replaced the whole SUBFRAME UNDER THE MOTOR. I refuse to take the car back. I asked to give me another Sentra. At first the Sales Manager accepted that it is a lemon and will give me another car, but later denied saying that and offer me to pay $65/ mo more for the SL Model. I had no choice to take the SL. There are some more issues with car also, that’s why I went with 100000 Mile Extended Warranty Bumper to bumper, Please don’t go to Cowles Nissan of Woodbridge, they sold me Lemon knowingly. More
My girlfriend and I went to Cowles Nissan to buy her a new Maxima. Everything went so smooth and every one was very friendly. She was really wanting certain floor mats in her car which of course the one new Maxima. Everything went so smooth and every one was very friendly. Mr. O'Meara was willing to order the mats she wanted and even got us an extended warranty on the vehicle. She was so happy about her new mats that as soon as we were called to say they were in she was right there picking them up. Thank you Jim for helping her be so happy. She can't wait to see you again to help us buy a car for me. More
After a long month of dealing with insurance companies after my car accident I went to Cowles Nissan hoping to buy a used altima. I was so happy to be driving an altima again but this time with heated seats and a sun roof! Yeah! More
I recently had a recall on my Nissan. When I called them to schedule an appointment they were able to get me in the same day. My car was finished within a few hours. I walked in looking for a new Nissan Quest van. Alan was the most helpful person I have met. He was very friendly and helped me from the beginning of my trade-in, through the test drive, financing and into the most helpful person I have met. Worst experience ever. I tried to get an appointment last week, but they refused to let me make an appointment for an oil change and service, stating it was first come/first serve. Never got a call back saying it was ready. Called that afternoon and they acted like it would be ready "soon." I went back over there. All in all, it took EIGHT hours for an oil change and to check fluids. No wonder Jiffy Lube is doing so well. And the people were so very rude in the service department - from the people behind the counter to the cashier. What they don't know, is that I have great credit and buy a new car every couple years (I did not get this car from them, but from a competitor). They've lost my business for a potential new car sale and definitely for service. I'd never go back there for anything! Never again. More
