unethical, irresponsible and unresponsive to concerns I am a lady who had decided to switch from a Cadillac DTS sedan to a newer Cadillac SRX. I searched the car and problems with certain models. Barts I am a lady who had decided to switch from a Cadillac DTS sedan to a newer Cadillac SRX. I searched the car and problems with certain models. Barts car shop in Anderson was rated well on Carfax and the car I liked, had complete car fax records with no issues. I drove to the dealer and inspected two cars. The Cadillac had 57,000 on it and appeared in great shape for 2011, except the rear hatch door did not open either electronically or manually. No warning lights or other issues observed. Salesman thought it might be just battery on remote. I talked to sales rep on the phone the next day and said I would like to buy the Cadillac, but the rear hatch door must be fixed. He said they would and said to call before driving up. I called at 1:30 and was told to come. When we were in the process of paperwork, salesman Anthony said the door did not work and that they had put module in it, but needed wire harness. I said they were responsible for fixing the door. He was complaining about that. Anthony said part could not come in till 2 days. He assured me that would fix the door. Per contract, he was suppose to order the part and send it to me. I was suppose to be given discount on total sales for cost of fix by local dealer. Hindsight 20-20: I should not have bought it till it was for sure fixed. I no sooner got on the road back and 2 sensors turned on. (Service Rear axle and parking assist.) I immediately called when I got home to see if this was due to wire harness part. I was told salesman had left and to call back Monday. I called Monday and asked about wire harness. It had not been ordered. I did not drive car thinking rear axle issue on all wheel drive could be dangerous. I called 2 more times 4 and 5 days later and sales man-Anthony-said he was too busy to call to see if part ordered. This is documented through text message. I was not driving and took car to local GM dealer for service near me on 11-1-18. They had car 1 week trying to fix door. I kept Anthony informed. The verdict: missing fuse, new lift gate module Bart's had installed was not programmed, lift gate switch fried due to water as well as, the rear hydraulic pump and cover soaked. Wire harness also had excessive corrosion. The GM serviceman took pictures and gave me parts. I called Anthony 11-5-18 and was told I was being screwed and they were lying. I was told to bring it up, but car was in parts. There was no fuse gone nor water issues per Anthony. He said it was the harness that still was not received! I bought car on 10-27 and got it back on 11-7 from repair. I drove up on the 11-8 and talked to manager. I showed him the corroded parts, pictures and my $1,381 bill. (I understand that big dealerships have higher fees than small businesses, however, the salesman made no effort to help rectify the problem until I called about the water issue on 11-5., plus the original harness had still not been received.) I requested they pay for the pump, switch and programming of the module they did not program. This was what was needed to fix the door that Bart's should have fixed per agreement. The manager did apologize and said he would contact corporate. 1 week later no response, The harness part was never replaced, nor ever ordered, and the hatch door now works because of GM service. Being unresponsive to concerns and irresponsible, needs to be expressed, so that other people who can not afford issues like this, do not get taken. I get it that it was used, but the door was to be fixed and the part was also in the contract and never received. It was not the problem anyways, This sales experience exemplified the car salesman who just wants a sale and no customer service. Follow-up: Corporate did call on 11-19 and the gentleman was very attentive and compassionate. .. Corporate plans to rectify my concern. They will be paying for all repairs associated with fixing the rear hatch door and service sensor issues as requested. They assured me that no similar incident would occur again. I appreciated their cooperation and follow-up on this matter. More

Not happy with the service I received. I received a flyer in the mail offering a chance to win a prize if I just came in & brought my flyer. I actually had no intention of purchasing a veh I received a flyer in the mail offering a chance to win a prize if I just came in & brought my flyer. I actually had no intention of purchasing a vehicle at that time. However, a salesman who said his name was Shawn and that he had been brought in from Ohio to help for the weekend, kept assuring my wife and I that he could get us in a quality car at a great deal with no money down. We agreed to have him check our credit because we actually did need a second vehicle but we didn't want a large payment added to our budget at this time. Shawn asked us what the maximum monthly payment we could afford and assured us he could get us a vehicle for that amount or less. We told him $300 was our maximum amount and that we did NOT want to pay a down payment. (The flyer we received said that we could purchase a vehicle with NO MONEY DOWN!!!) He assured us that the flyer was accurate and we would not have to pay a down payment unless we chose to. He then took our credit info and went and delivered it to someone in the finance office then came back to us and told us he had 3 cars for us to look at in our price range. We selected a Chevy Malibu and he brought us the keys to test drive it. We noticed that there were cracks in the front windshield and Shawn pointed out that there was a piece of plastic broken loose under the driver's seat. He said that Bart's would fix both of those things for free. My wife asked him if he was sure of that because the sticker price on the car said that car was being sold "as is", but again, he assured us that Bart's would fix it for us at no charge. My wife then asked him about a warranty because the sticker on the window said, "no warranty". He said not worry about that because Bart's could still warranty us for that vehicle regardless of what the sticker said. He NEVER mentioned a cost for the warranty. After we test drove it, we decided we would purchase the car. Another guy from the finance dept who didn't give us a name, but was very big and said he played football in school came and got more detailed financial info and also reassured us that Bart's would fix the two items, windshield crack and broken plastic, at no charge. In fact, he went to the car with us and tried to fix the plastic piece on the seat but couldn't. He gave us a loose part that was hanging there and told us to hold onto it and bring it back for Bart's' to fix the seat later. He left briefly then came back and said we would have to pay $750 down to cover "taxes and things". He also said our payment would be $346 instead of just $300. We agreed to pay the $750 for the taxes and things and agreed to pay $346 even though it was a little more than we have planned knowing also that you DO have to pay the taxes on a vehicle when you purchase one. As we were signing the paper work, (nthony Webb was handling that part,) he would explain verbally what each page was then have me sign it. When it came to the warranty page, he NEVER mentioned ANYTHING about a COST for the warranty! He just said it was a powertrain warranty and only covered certain things. WE DID NOT WANT A WARRANTY IF WE HAD TO PAY FOR ONE!!! And we would not have agreed to this warranty if Anthony had said it would cost us over 3,000!!! He didn't mention that. I assume now that he knew it was on the form and that Bart's was covered even if they didn't mention it as long as it was listed on the form. To be honest, I did not read every word on the many different forms he gave me, I wish now that I had cause later on, after we left, my wife began to read all of the paperwork. She was not able to do that before because the car was in MY name only and Anthony only addressed and talked to me-not her, and he handed all the forms to me to sign, not her. She found on the yellow sales detail form that the taxes WERE IN FACT INCLUDED in the loan, which was $1,015, NOT part of the $750 they had said we were paying up front. Also, this form listed the $750 but it listed it as a "down payment" even after we said repeatedly that we DID NOT want to pay a down payment! I feel that Bart's Car Store defrauded us by lying about the down payment then tricking us into paying one when we told them we didn't want to, and then lying to us by telling us the $750 was for taxes and other things instead of the truth. Also, by not mentioning the cost of a warranty and letting us know we didn't HAVE to purchase the warranty. I spoke with a friend later who told me that they profit from every warranty they can sell to their customers. This explains the trickery going on there. We went back a couple of times to get the crack in the window fixed and were told that they wouldn't replace the windshield which had TWO big cracks in it but would fill it with some sealer. They offered to try and fix the plastic piece on the front seat if we brought it back. I WOULD NEVER REFER ANYONE TO BART'S CAR STORE AND MY WIFE IS HAS CONTACTED THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE TO SEE IF WE CAN GET SOME KIND OF RELIEF FROM WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO US WITH BART'S. They were asking 4,999.00.On the test drive the 4x4 did not work So they did take 1,000 off and made it as a asis sale.witch lowered the price to 3,999.00.It had some rust I knew that needed repairs. For witch i set set aside a couple thousand dollars.Like most trucks was expecting the rust at the cab corners and below the doors.the standard areas are not my concerns but what is,was all but 2 cab mounts were rusted away and only 3 bed mounts held the bed on the frame.the exhaust had no cadilic converter.Once the bed was off i could stick my finger right thru the rear shocks they were rusted out so bad.All 4 interior fenders were rotted away.I knew it had some exterior rust on the fenders that was expected. The battery plate was almost all gone.and the battery was about to fall thru to the front tire. This truck was a rolling death trap.Should never ever made it to the for sale lot.I am just thankful I am the who got screwed buying this truck and was going to do some repairs on it.Because if a younger kid with more limeted finances was to have purchased it and was in a accident it could have gotton ugly.I even stopped in the Barts and spoke with the manager and let him know the shape of the truck and asked for some help in repairs and was told nothing he could do was a as is sale.To be fair they did have new brakes put on and new door pins installed. But the door was not properly repaired and still does not close correctly.I expected alot more from this dealership.I will never recommend them anyone and will tell everyone i know what I am going thru just to get this truck safe to drive.
