It also had been in accident and needed repair on rear quarter. When we went to get tires it was discovered it needed complete brake job also. I wanted another opinion and took it to VW dealer who also said it needed complete brake service (Rotors were bad, 50% on front and 5% on rear pads). Autoamerica agreed at time of sale to take care of body damage and do inspection. We set up day a week ahead to get this done and drove a second vehicle there so we could leave it. They didn't get it done! Warning to every one getting car here, get your own inspection done at honest repair shop. The worthless mechanics this place takes their cars too claimed brakes on our car had 70% wear left. Brake warning light is now on. Will More

He told us he knew the guy that traded it in for a yellow Hummer, and he took excellent care of it. My xxx!! Bought it, and it immediately had to go to the shop, as ALL the seals.....front differential, tranny, oil, power steering, brake, shocks & gaskets were ALL bad!! How could they do this?? My dad paid cash for this and has put another $4800 into it. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, will go back to or ever recommend Auto America. And word of mouth counts for a lot!! More
No discussion on price of vehicle, "that's just the price of the car, we don't negotiate". Said car had clean record. Turns out our car had been in accident. Lots of "salesman" lines, "what's it goin price of the car, we don't negotiate". Said car had clean record. Turns out our car had been in accident. Lots of "salesman" lines, "what's it going to take to buy today?". High pressure. We finally got tired and said yes, and bought, but will NEVER step foot in there again. They are the epitome of "used car salesman"... Sleezy, annoying, high pressure. More
Several weeks ago, we took our 2006 vehicle to possibly trade on a 2008 vehicle they had on the lot. Nice young guy who helped us. Took a test drive and understood they would be taking ours for a test dr trade on a 2008 vehicle they had on the lot. Nice young guy who helped us. Took a test drive and understood they would be taking ours for a test drive so we know what they would give us for it. We have purchased more than 60 vehicles during our married life and have NEVER had an experience as bad as this one. I do not fault the salesman. From the very beginning, we said we wanted their best offer because we had another vehicle we also wanted to look at on another lot. We weren't sure it was even the model we wanted, but we were clear that we were not buying their vehicle at this time. The dealing began with a price we felt was somewhat lower than what we expected according to the KBB. Salesman presented, we said,no, that probably wouldn't do it. Left again (as they usually do) and came back with the very loud BIG guy who demanded to know what it would take for us to buy the vehicle that day. We again reiterated we wanted their best offer and if it was, we would come back. Usually, they would say, give us a chance before you buy the other but, NO-O-O-O - He got very demanding and my husband, said, NO, we are not buying today and started walking out. The big guy is yelling while we are walking out - he "didn't even know if he could give us that deal since he hadn't driven ours and he "doesn't have time to be driving people's vehicles for no reason." We were the only customers in there. He was still yelling as we got in our vehicle. He opened my husband's door and said "Get your f___in' vehicle off my lot."! We were stunned. Again, we have NEVER been treated like that before and I am telling everyone I know about the experience! The sad part is, the other lot's vehicle was not what we wanted and we might actually have purchased the AA vehicle. Obviously, we will never set foot on that lot again as long as that guy works there!! Everytime I hear their ad on KRGI,it makes me ill! If it was possible, I wouldn't have even given them a '1.' Zero is more like it! More
My overall experience with Auto America was 'good'. The thing that would have made it all "Great", would have been more clear and concise answers to questions asked. When I would ask a question I heard al thing that would have made it all "Great", would have been more clear and concise answers to questions asked. When I would ask a question I heard alot of, um I'm not sure, uh I'll have to ask Scot, oh I need to talk to another person etc...otherwise pretty good experience :-) More
Called one afternoon to see what kind of vans they had for sale. Got into a van that had 179k miles on it. They said it was inspected and everything worked and that the A/C was ice cold. After driving for sale. Got into a van that had 179k miles on it. They said it was inspected and everything worked and that the A/C was ice cold. After driving the rotors were warped so braking sucked. A/C didn't work AT ALL! So after driving we went inside to talk. The guy from the radio was extremely high pressure. The KBB price of this van was $2000 and they had it at $7000. What a crock. I had a brand new trade with 10k miles on it that was still on payments (8000 left on it) that I later traded for $16800. This guy kept trying to get me to trade it straight across. I kept saying that was a rip off and they got even more mad. Then they brought out another big guy and double teamed me while the guy from the radio just kept saying in the background "why wouldn't you do it". I would have lost $7000 to them on this one. So much for "We promise never to pressure you, and you can count on getting top dollar for your trade-in." as it says right on their website. This place was shady when it was carpenter cars. Maybe the owner should stop his gambling habit and run a straight business. More
Called on a Friday to check their weekend hours. Told they were closed on Sunday and closed at 5;0 p.m. on Saturday. I said thank you, but then the girl who answered the phone said sometimes they stayed they were closed on Sunday and closed at 5;0 p.m. on Saturday. I said thank you, but then the girl who answered the phone said sometimes they stayed later on Saturday and she would check. She transferred me to Paul. I explained if I came in that weekend the earliest I could get there is 5:30 p.m. He said he would stay and to ask for him when I got there. I gave him some preliminary information on what we were looking for and some information on my vehicle that I wanted to trade. My husband and I arrived at 5:35 p.m. on that Saturday. Met Paul in the lot. We then went for a quick test drive. Discussed our trade, an '07 Explorer that was in fantastic condition, new tires, no tears or holes in the interior, not smoked in, no dents or rust. One door had been replaced because of someone backing into me, but it was replaced with a new door not a salvage door. Completed the credit application. We have perfect credit so I figured no problem there. Well, the guy that does all the commercials comes out and says our payments would be $198 for 5 years. I said how much for 3 years. He figures it and says $292. I ask what they are giving me on my trade, he tells me, and it was a reasonable number. Then I ask what the interest rate is and that's when things go south in a hurry. He didn't want to tell me. I said my current rate was 7% and he says well its higher than that. Then I'm told that the bank are PROBABLY closed so we would have to use their financing instead of a bank or other lender. Then he goes on about how the days of $150/payments are over. I said that an unknown interest rate didn't work for me, but thanks for your time. Then all of sudden ANOTHER man walks out, and loudly asks what it is exactly I wanted. I said what anyone wants, a nice car for a reasonable price. Then all 3 of them start going on about me wasting their time, practically chased me out of the building. I told them I wouldn't ever come back if that's how they treat their customers, then the 3rd guy says he didn't want my xxx car anyway, when 10 minutes before they were going on and on about how nice it was, and he didn't want my business anyway. I got out to my car and my keys were gone. I asked where my keys were and the big guy just stand in the doorway hollering. Finally I got my keys and left. This entire transaction took less than an hour. I guess they were upset because I wasn't going to pay what I figured was 18% interest on a car loan. Beware: If you don't buy a car there, they will treat you VERY badly. More
