BUYER BEWARE We bought a vehicle the second week of June this year. We knew exactly what we wanted, and when the car popped up online we went to Auffenberg to test drive and buy the car. When we wen June this year. We knew exactly what we wanted, and when the car popped up online we went to Auffenberg to test drive and buy the car. When we went into the finance office, they tried to give us a loan with an outrageous interest rate. We pulled up a pre-qualification quote from earlier that day, and were given some resistance until we mentioned financing through Capital One instead of them. All of sudden, we were magically qualified for a rate 2.5 points less than what they tried to get us to sign. I don't know any other word for this but PREDATORY LENDING. The extra interest charged on the loan could be equal to a few trips at the grocery store or more. The hassle didn't stop there. After purchasing the car, the title documents didn't arrive until a full 31 days after purchasing the vehicle, which meant an extra late fee when transferring the documents at the DMV. Furthermore, the wrong sale date was listed on the title documents, which increased the fee an additional 50%. When I asked them to correct the date, they refused. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM AUFFENBERG.
